That was easily the worst State of Play to date. Very short also. You can see why they low key announced it and didn't hype it.

Even KFC is calling it out: https://twitter.com/kfcgami...

Right, but where is the source that says Sony submitted a driver, and Microsoft rejected it?

Microsoft has a hardware certification process which allows trusted IHV's, such as Nvidia, AMD, and Sony to have their drivers certified & even delivered via Windows Update.

So it'...

Source? There are lots of drivers for non-MS hardware on Windows.

I don't really care about the games listed in the article, but it would be nice to see the back compat program revived - there's still no real way to play a lot of the great games from the PS3/360 & PS2/OGXB era like Max Payne 3, Silent Hill 4, etc on a modern console.

No they shouldn't. We already have too many launchers on PC, we don't need another for one publisher only. Let's just stick with Steam + Epic Store, the de-facto standard launchers on PC.

Plus we all know Sony will never enable cross-buy, they do not support things like that.

This is how Halo should look. This is looking 100x better than the E3 showcase they had. The MP beta was also the most fun I've had with an FPS game in a very long time.

343 seems to have cracked it finally. Congrats.

They’re getting Halo and Forza.

I think it’s situational.

If you’ve had a PS5 from launch / early on and have exhausted the existing games, it matters.

If you’re just getting a PS5 now / for Christmas, you’re going to have a backlog of good games to play, so it doesn’t matter.

It’s undeniable that Xbox has a far better line-up this holiday, but PS has had better games earlier on in the gen and Xbox hasn’t.

I do enjoy Horizon games, they are always great fun - and this game is insanely good looking, easily the best looking game of this generation thus far.

I’m interested to see what Playground Games can do with an RPG.

Those were the days :P and it did look great back then, especially given we'd only played 2D GTA up until then.

I don't miss having to take turns of games with my siblings and friends though! We used to basically say your turn ended when you died, which was often lol.

@Games4u But Halo came first... so how can it be 'reskinned'

Since we're listing things that are never going to happen... Syphon Filter reboot!

They wrote it because the game DOES look and feel dated. That is why we're getting this visual overhaul with refreshed controls and aiming.

I look forward to re-experiencing all 3 on a modern platform, with updated controls (especially the aiming) and trophies etc.

Ah, resorting to insults, the sign of someone who has no idea what they're talking about and has no real arguments to make.

The difference is there are a proven 100-200m people out there who WILL buy a games console. Whether Xbox acquires them as customers or not is a different story (and frankly, as someone who plays on PS5 and doesn't work for nor invest in MS, is not my problem nor concern), but the total addressable market exists and is of a decent size.

Or a smart move given how small the user base is. VR gaming is niche and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon, if ever.

Sony need to step up their game here and offer us PS3 back compat on PS5, even if it's just a curated selection of top titles like Xbox did.

It's obvious by the amount of Sony games coming to Steam, as well as the various Jim Ryan interviews saying as much, as well as the corporate strategy docs that show PC as their next big push.

And it's a good idea. More people experiencing these games is a win for gamers, and more revenue for Sony means more great games going forward. No one loses in this scenario.

Not surprised at all, it's obvious the entire catalog is coming to PC, and we can already see where it is heading.

Pretty awesome get for PC gamers, and the game is going to look awesome with the visual enhancements, ultrawide, high framerate etc.

The Game Pass edition ;)

Seems like a smart decision - VR has failed to become mainstream, twice now. I don't see that changing.
