Well, yes, if you answer my comment you are justifying yourself. You’re always welcome to not engage in the comments section and just move along.
My only bias is against giving money to corporations which I dont have to. Same reason I avoid shopping at Amazon and Walmart wherever possible.
I think the game is awesome - GOTY thus far - but my $10 is always better in my own pocket.
Not my problem if you can’t answer justifying how the $70 version has $10 more value than the 100% identical product/experience 🤷
Based on what I’ve heard I’m going to go on the record here saying it WILL come to Xbox (but not exclusively). Bookmark this comment - I will eat my hat and lots of crow if wrong :p
I’ll likely keep playing it on PS though. Don’t have a recent Xbox and I think my fight stick may work on PS5. As for PC, too many cheaters.
I do wonder if we’ll see a Switch version though - have we seen any RE engine games on Switch? Just MHR i guess.
Yeah, tbh when a console is no longer the most recent from that company AND they’re shutting down the marketplace - it should be fair play.
100% agree. I will totally get my ass handed to me, but it’ll be fun none the less :p
Quick, run! Nintendo are probably trying to trace your IP right now for even suggesting the above :p
Dang, finally! Heck yeah.
The collection they announced looks pretty good too!
“ everytime I turn on the PS5, it will start to download the PS4-version. ”
I can’t say I have that issue. Getting the PS5 one was a few extra clicks yeah, but it doesn’t auto download the PS4 version when I power on the console. Might wanna try a hard reset.
Sure, collectors exist but it’s hard to believe 68% of purchasers wanted a PS5 box - it’s more likely the majority just didn’t know the free upgrade existed since Sony did a good job of hiding it.
I never said the game was bad, nor did I mean they wasted their money on the game. The game is great.
They wasted their money because you can get the exact same product for 10 pounds less. Why pay more for an identical product?
“ begrudge the devs getting a little extra.”
It’s cute that you think that 10 bucks goes to the developers. That money isn’t going anywhere near the individuals who worked on this game - heck GG probably won’t ev...
PS4 cases look fine. I buy games to play, not to admire the box that sits on a shelf.
The reinstall thing is a nothingburger. How many times are you planning to completely uninstall and reinstall the game? Probably zero, or 1-2 times.
We need that here in the US - they aren’t even required to pay you here, nevermind seek permission.
I’m all for shorter length games nowadays. I used to be against it but as you get older you have less time.
For example I’ve been trying to play through RE4 again - loved it when I was younger - and it’s still a great game - but my god does that game go on forever.
There’s no need for everyone to like a game just because most others do. The author isn’t excited for it and that is fine.
The rest of us continue to be excited for it and will be having a GOTY experience in a few days time.
Not all games companies have good cultures, in fact most verge on toxic to be honest.
There were other companies in the running - the SEC filing linked in the article above states that 4 companies were in the bidding process.
I’d assume one of those was Tencent, so thank god Microsoft got it and not them - both for the staff and for the franchises.
Microsoft (or at least Xbox) is known for having one of the better work cultures in the g...
I’ll believe it when I hear it from lower level / non-director employees.
“Some people like to keep working, and we're not going to stop that”
Most people don’t like to work over Christmas and Naughty Dog said similar things about their crunch being optional too.
That being said, this could also be a regional thing. Most Europeans I know in the industry (minus Great Britain) must be paid overtime, and at higher rates than standard p...
The only thing predatory with Activision is Bobby and the people he has protected.
Sad, but true. This acquisition can’t happen quick enough - it’s unfortunate that he’ll get a huge payout - but the sooner he has nothing to do with the games industry the better.
That’s how business works. Why pay more if you don’t have to?
The acquisition is good news for the Activision staff though - Microsoft will be able to correct the terrible culture there/insert their own.
If it was inflation, the PS4 version would have gone up in price too. Also, most other companies are making games for PS5 at $60.
He's also sort of wrong though - the PS4 version includes the PS5 version, so technically the PS5 version is $60 if you are smart about your purchase and don't waste your cash.
Highly unlikely. Xbox is the only platform which allows cross play by default.
For PS and Nintendo it’s blocked by default and you have to work with your account manager to request it on a per game basis - they then review your request and may or may not approve it. And on PS you also have to revenue share with Sony if you enable cross-play and your game has any in-game paid content…
Right now, Xbox is the easiest platform for a developer to implement cro...
