GTA Chicago is a bit too close to home :P
I have a soft spot for Vice City, which is where we'll probably end up - but I'd actually like to see them do a city outside of North America, like London, or somewhere in South America or Eastern Europe.
This has delay written all over it. If it launches in 2023 it should've probably just been a PS5 game and not cross-gen, but hindsight is 20/20.
It is good to see Cory back to himself again though, looking happy!
No need for the drama. He covers why he left and his plans in the article:
"Novak said he’s leaving Microsoft to take time off from work and refocus his life. After losing a person close to him three years ago, Novak said he wanted to take time off to learn new things. He won’t move on to a new company immediately."
I’m getting a bit of Star Wars fatigue between games, movies and TV shows - but I am interested to see what she can do with the Star Wars IP.
Meanwhile back in the real world…
- Sony are pushing a new game subscription
- Nintendo already has a game subscription
- MS ended up the #1 publisher in 2021 despite all their games being on gamepass
- Microsoft was the only one of the big 3 to appear in the top 10 games of the year. Nintendos highest entry is at 17, and Sony 29.
Subscriptions are great value for consumers and we like them.
Not a huge surprise. They can't discuss or make any decisions with or about Activision & their future until the government approves the acquisition. Gun jumping is illegal and puts the deal at risk of not closing.
If only Valve felt the same way... imagine if they'd launched Steam Deck with HL3 or Portal 3... that would have been insane.
Isn't that all but guaranteed? The game is a hit franchise and guaranteed success unless they massively screw up.
I would like to see another KZ first though.
I never thought I’d say this about CP2077 but I’m actually looking forward to the expansion. It had a terrible launch but now with all the patches and next gen upgrade - it’s actually a pretty good game.
His channel is great. I've used it in the past to help make TV purchasing decisions as well determining the best settings for the display.
Definitely recommend his content!
Okay, so we are good here, no need for further discussion. We agree on the facts I posted above.
I don't think anyone expects a ~$500 portable PC to be truly future proof, but it should keep running games at acceptable levels of performance for a good few years to come, at least until the end of the current console generation.
It is an impressive piece of kit though for its size and price point. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.
Actually you were the one disagreeing with the numbers I shared originally ("Seems like a pretty disappointing performance for game pass" - despite the publisher saying the complete opposite)
So we agree on what I wrote in my original statement. It is a fact that the game did well, with half of the players coming from game pass and over half of the total players being on MS platforms. It's crazy what game pass can do for a game. Anyways, great. I'm glad we...
But again, the company who publishes the game is happy with the numbers. You are unable to override that and your opinion on the matter is void.
2m players is great for a new IP, the publisher is happy, MS is happy, the players are happy. Facts matter & no amount of spin can turn that into a negative.
So what's your position at Bandai Namco? Why should we trust you over the director & producer?
They said the gamepass deal was a positive for the game:

"The game was added to the service three months after release, and Iizuka says he was pleased that the arrangement allowed more players to easily engage ...
No goal posts moved at all by myself, bringing a completely different game, from a different style of subscription service is what would be considered moving goalposts 😏
"Prove that Microsoft paid at least $30 per game pass download, which is probably less than the average value of individual sales on PlayStation. I know I paid $40 for it when it was on sale."
That's not how game sales work. You paid $40, Bandai did not get $40 of th...
There’s over 115 million PS4’s and around 20 million PS5’s - why did it sell so few units on PS? 🤷
Oddworld may not be the best example since they just came out saying PS+ was devastating for their sales… meanwhile Bandai has said GP was good for this game.
Also Oddworld had 4 million acquisitions, not necessarily downloads. PS+ operates differently from GP. You must acquire the game within the month to get it, resulting in people who will acquire...
This game is a joke. I thought it was trolling or a meme when people were sharing the pre-order bonuses & editions around.
Core features are locked behind a paywall, and a lot of them are already present in the XB360 versions available on Xbox via back compat for $5.
