But were these taken with or without all the paid ‘extras’ 🤔

We sure would - the XSX and PS5 kits cost $2000 though - to rent, not buy!

Maybe next gen :)

67% of PS3 games are currently ‘playable’ - and playable is defined as:

“Games that can be completed with playable performance and no game breaking glitches.

So yes, they have definitely done things. I’ve played a lot of games on RPCS3 and had no issues - some even run better than they did on my PS3.

If Sony does back compat I would also expect it only to be for big / popular titles - not every title. They will take a similar approach t...

The technical details, timeline and information in this comment are just completely incorrect.

- "PS3 Cell was an expensive attempt to change the way games are made by offloading work"

Games were already offloading work. It was more so that PS3 had cores dedicated to specific types of vector functions, and the memory model was complicated with having to DMA memory to/from the SPUs etc. Not having a shared game + graphics memory pool was problema...

“Depending on how you look at it, Sony’s struggle to emulate the PlayStation 3 is complex or incredibly simple”

It’s incredibly simple. This is already a solved problem. The open source community has already done this - and with far less resources than what Sony has. Heck, you can even play MGS4 at 60Hz on PC.

The business interest isn’t there for Sony, this is a company that kicked off the era of $70 games.

They would rather have us p...

@Apocalypse Means nothing to me how many units a game sold. I'm not an investor or exec, I'm a consumer, I care about good deals and how much I'm paying.

@Chevalier What are you talking about? Minecraft is in GamePass, in fact it's even on the list you linked...

Give us a remake/remaster already. And then use that to test the market and see if the numbers are good enough to do a reboot (hint: they will be).

@rippermcrip

Doesn't offer 1st party titles. That's a huge gap in comparable value.

@Silly

"My question I have for you is, won't PS Plus offer more games than gamepass has at the same price?"

I'm interested in quality, not quantity. MS puts their 1pp games in their subscription day 1, which now also includes Zenimax and soon Activision. That's insane value for your bucks.

If they think their games sell too well to be in their premium subscription, then that is their decision - but don't expect me to pay such amounts to subscribe to your service in that case.

GamePass is a great deal, I would love something of similar value on my PS.

I'll wait for the final games list, but currently the new tiers aren't super appealing, and I'll likely just keep subscribing at the same tier as my current PS+ membership.

They need to give us a proper game pass competitor and proper back compat support. I would happily pay a higher tier of recurring subscription for that (at similar cost to what game pass costs).

Happy to see Capcom going strong again. They've been churning out some great games this past couple of years!

Now they just need to remake RE CV & 4, and reboot Dead Rising.

I'm not interested in comparing 2020 hardware vs 2022/23 hardware. Quest 3 is expected to launch in 2023, that is what we should be comparing PSVR2 to.

I expect Quest 3 to have foveated rendering & eye tracking, but ignoring that for a second - Quest is already winning on the HW front. It's wireless and my PC is higher spec than my PS5.

If I was interested in owning a VR device, I'd go for Quest (which is saying something, because I can...

This is a hard list to make… so many good bosses in the series.

I really enjoyed Psycho Mantis as a kid, I was blown away by the fact he could make my controller rumble and read my save games! And the tactics to beat him were crazy.

I’d put him in #1 with The End in 2nd.

In terms of market and sales? No. Quest targets a way bigger audience. I expect PSVR2 to sell similar to the first one.

In terms of hardware? Also no. New quest device will edge it out and wireless is a win in a key area.

It will be a genuine improvement for the niche audience that like VR and had a PSVR gen 1 though. It’s clearly substantially better than the first generation device.

They haven’t really shown any of it or given details on size and scope - so it’s hard to say… using the IP of a AAA game does not mean the new game will be AAA.

There are plenty of smaller spin off titles of AAA games that don’t qualify as AAA.

No wonder. The thing is a mess.

The second you need a complex table which contains core gameplay elements to describe your preorder and special edition perks, you’ve screwed something up.

They said the same thing about HFW and delayed it a few months later. No employee is going to break rank and announce a delay on Twitter ahead of corporate.

I’ll wait and see - hopefully we’ll see a SoP dedicated to GoW shortly.

Yeah... there's literally thousands, if not tens of thousands of people who work on Xbox and PS.

The reality is no one person leaving really has that much impact on the platform unless it's the head exec, which can have huge implications, for better or for worse (looking at you Jim Ryan & Don Mattrick).

Hopefully to Sony/Playstation - so we can get a decent gamepass competitor!

GTA4 I feel actually aged better than most games. If anything, I actually had more fun re-playing it (and the expansions) recently than I had when I initially played it back at launch.

You just need to be able to ignore Roman's calls to play pool basically, and then the game is good.

Infact, I'd even go as far as saying I enjoyed it more (on the replay) than I enjoyed V.
