I guess in their defense, they were referring to the original Spiderman, not the remastered version.
They did announce PSVR2 RE4 remake content is 'in development', at the end of the trailer on the livestream. For some reason they pulled it from the above trailer.
EDIT: You can see it here at around 2:10

The official website is up and now confirms this is next-gen only! PS5, XSX & Steam

Damn, this looks great. The environment looks a lot darker and scarier than the original. I am interested to see if they tweak the balance of action and horror to be more like the RE2/3 remakes. Zero interest in the VR component though, still unappealing.
I wasn't expecting to wait until 2023 for this to be honest, I thought it would be sooner, but it's still a day 1.
@mandf They stay in stock for a while - barely anyone subscribes to W+ compared to services like Amazon Prime. They have regular restocks too. I've managed to nab next gen consoles every time they open on W+ without any real effort.
@darthv72 Yeah, Walmart's new system is actually pretty good. They queue folk like Sony does, but the queue maxes out at about 20m, and then limit you to one of each console variant per drop (e.g. you can combine digital + physical PS5),...
The easiest way to get these consoles is via Walmart+, they stay in stock there for long periods of time.
Yeah… I would prefer a CV remake and they could throw in an Outbreak (or similar) as an online component instead of something like RE:Verse etc.
But unfortunately I think we’ll get RE4 first, despite it not really needing a remaster, just due to the sheer popularity of it back in the day.
Agreed. It's a wait and see game at this point. US could go either way, Europe is likely stuck with PAL, at least outside of the UK (although I assume Sony will blast the same version to all European stores).
I think he's basing his assumption on the US around the fact that in Asian regions where PS+ has launched where titles were not localized and were provided in English, they have defaulted to the PAL version. But one would assume that NTSC is the 'native'...
I would've put Mantis higher with all his memory card reading and DualShock shenanigans. What an awesome game though, Konami need to remake it (again).
Hopefully this is a precursor to a bunch of RE announcements tomorrow in the State of Play. RE4, Outbreak or CV please.
If you're in Japan... unfortunately most of us are in the US or Europe.
Unfortunately it looks like this still won't be the case for the US: https://twitter.com/the_mar...
The reason the JP one is NTSC is because it's the only version of the original which has Japanese localization. Other NTSC regions are still getting PAL games.
Still time for Sony to correct this ahead of the US launch though - keep up the pressure.
So much ado about nothing. Every game goes through this process. A developer of the pedigree of Playground should be capable of delivering a good product though.
Looking forward to trying this out when it releases, I expect we'll see more at the upcoming 'E3' briefing.
Then your statement applies to every game ever made - all games have features & gameplay mechanics cut during pre and early production.
Fortunately, Playground are a very experienced developer, their games are regularly 90+ metacritics and they were the #1 first party developer last year - so I trust them to deliver a quality product here.
Chip problems aren't just a Sony problem, it's hitting everyone in the industry and even other industries like cars etc.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure it'll get better anytime soon with what's going on in Ukraine. And you can't really blame Jim Ryan for this one, COVID and Ukraine/Russia are not his fault nor something he can solve.
I would very much doubt this is a 2:1 generation for anyone (excluding Nintendo perhaps). This is not an Xbox One vs PS4, the numbers are far closer this time around.
Why not both?
It’s an awesome game by Rebellion but also an awesome day 1 entry for GP.
I wouldn’t say it faces any more challenges than it has in past months.
The equivalent tier of PS+ is the same PS+ it’s been competing against for years, nothing has changed there.
And GWG has been awful for a while now, I wouldn’t expect any change.
I missed GOG, consider that added to my list of essentials.
I have epic mainly for the free games.
But my main dislike is having to install, typically subpar, launchers where only one companies games are available.
Agreed. They're just timed exclusives at this point, and sooner or later they will be day 1. More people experiencing more great games, and investing more in the ecosystem is a good thing for all.
