Thank god. Now to see how they handle Europe.
Really though, they could've easily solved this issue a long time ago for every region. There's a dropdown that lets you select between the PS4 and PS5 versions in store - just do the same and let people choose between "English (NTSC)" and "EFIGS (PAL)". Simple solution.
He knows as much as we do at this time, so we'll have to wait and see more as they unveil more.
We do know we have base building functionality on the planets and I'm expecting some kind of procedural generation & side/dynamically located quests for the planets - with main quests forcing you to visit a decent amount of them.
Either way, based on what we saw today - day 1.
Hit & Run is the best. We totally need a remake... or even a back compat release.
I had a look through the XBox twitter and couldn't find the sizzle reel. Are you sure it's legit? I feel like Kojima appearing in an Xbox sizzle trailer would've been all over the news and N4G.
In this one you play as an Instacart driver in the early days of the COVID pandemic, delivering key items to assist with the survival of the human race (mainly toilet paper). The cloud is used to simulate realistic worldwide item demand & shortages.
I joke of course - I actually did like DS but yeah, it’s pretty much a walking and delivery sim.
Stuck with it through its initial long and very slow experience mainly because Kojima’s name was on the box....
Still find it hard to get excited for Ark 2 but I didn’t really get into the first so maybe it’s just not for me (or maybe I should try it again and invest some time into it).
Which sizzle trailer? I don’t believe we knew Kojima was going to be there today beyond some leaks.
I’m pretty sure Microsoft are paying him for the game… he isn’t working for free.
If he wasn’t being paid he would’ve gone to Sony instead, who would’ve been happy to fund his work.
Every GP dev gets paid.
Thanks for the in-depth look into the gameplay demo.
There was a lot of different things shown today, some of which only flashed on screen for a few seconds via UIs so I found your breakdown of the RPG elements very interesting.
I am looking forward to the game, the only thing that gives me a bit of anxiety is knowing I’m likely going to lose an Elder Scrolls amount of hours on it.
This^ * 100
He’ll just stay independent and keep making bank off of Sony and MS who are more than willing to throw money at him.
I have plenty of friends who have only ever had Xbox consoles or PC and haven’t played those P games.
This would also point towards future P games coming to Xbox - and maybe even GP.
I guess he didn’t see Starfield or Kojima announcement. Those are both huge and not “old PS games”.
That’s the same game though. That article is from 2021 which is from around when we’ve been hearing the Kojima Xbox rumors.
Today is the first time we’ve heard about it officially.
And that’s fine - with such a broad audience of gamers of course 100% of content will not appeal to people.
@Eonjay It’s a partnership with Xbox Game Studios - it’ll be PC and Xbox only.
Yes - and again that’s the power of Kojima. He overshadows huge announces like Persona and lots of Starfield.
Not sure but either way, based off of what they showed today - I am 100% in.
8/10 for me. Lots of good content & gameplay and it’s all coming within the next 12 months and to GamePass.
Kojima and Persona were huge announces.
No Goldeneye though… which is odd - games with achievements don’t turn up on Xbox.com by accident.
Maybe we’ll hear more as it gets closer to the anniversary of the game.
So the rumors were correct. This is huge and I’m excited to see more of what Kojima can do without the shackles of Konami.
This also killed any rumors of KJP having been quietly acquired.
It's sad that they even need to state this, and have to deal with all the backlash they're getting on Twitter just for making an Xbox game.
KJP are making an Xbox exclusive - they weren't acquired. Obviously they will keep working with whoever is willing to fund their projects.
Kojima is winning. Basically getting two huge powerhouses to fund all his crazy (in a good way) creations.
