i wouldn't call it a failure, but the points made are well taken. people sort of gravitate toward strategy in missions like assassination when you're protecting the target. other than that it feels like a free-for-all. i still love it. been melee-ing my way to M4 heaven.

"MS hasn’t given up hope, though, and like most good companies, is looking to improve on ithe product."

Replace "good companies" with "giant corporations." nothing good about MS. they can sloppily stitch together a console and get quality companies to do good things with it, but that doesn't make them a good company.

Halo 3 at #8? Ugh. And no X-Com: UFO Defense? That game was classic. And how about Lode Runner?

I was disappointed in the character models (except Radec...but Evelyn looked terrible)...but the environments were fantastic. Critics argue KZ2 doesn't innovate, but graphically, I've never seen anything done like this. Love the level in the barren wastelands, with the wind whipping up the dust. Very cool.

Jesus would have loved putting rounds into each of their turned cheeks. Watch out Helghasts, I'm about to give you my Sermon on the Mounted Turret.

I'll start a mini-sh!t stormlet. I don't mind a score of "9", but i watched the video and he raved ("buy.this.game.").

I wish he mentioned the flaws (slim story doesn't count, since he immediately follows that comment by saying that it's not missed). Maybe the lack of co-op?

I'm already sold, but I trust the A/V club more than just about any other site.

He's right to the extent that all things must be done in moderation. Children don't understand moderation unless parents teach them.

Add to that the fact that children aren't likely to just get bored with video games, especially as engrossing and engaging as they are nowadays, and kids could end up glued to their sofa.

I'm sure everyone on N4G knows when to say when.

My worry is that OPM Australia gave World at War a 10/10 and called it a white knuckle thrill ride of the year. Personally, I was very disappointed in WaW...it was technically and artistically inferior to Modern Warfare.
