Hopefully developers can implement PS5 enhancement patches for PS4 games like they do with the Pro.
It's published by Sony, uses Decima, and Mark Cerny is a producer. I don't expect a PC release.
Yeah this really makes me want to replace my 1080Ti.
Interesting that AMD has confirmed it is not a GCN product and that GCN will stick around for data center use.
Not sure why a 14 year old game can't hold 60fps on a console released in 2017
Nothing demanding, 8K is 4x the pixels of 4K. We'd need a console at least 4x as powerful as the One X just to maintain current gen visuals at 8K. We are going to be lucky if next gen consoles are substantially more than 2x the power of the One X. The issue is the One X isn't even very old so the jump in terms of GPU is going to be more limited than we've ever experienced in a console generation. I doubt people will be interested in playing current gen games at 8K.
I'm guessing it's dynamic or they're using reconstruction, I just don't buy it that they're actually able to do both. The Xbox One X is a great piece of console hardware and I've been impressed with how good games look on it, but I find it very hard to believe they'll actually achieve native 4K at 60fps on any current gen machine with the visual quality they've demonstrated so far. DOOM and Wolfenstein II look great on my 4K OLED on the X, very close to my nati...
Red dead online was dead on arrival. There's no point in continuing this.
Because this site is full of uncritical fanboys. The game also has an ongoing save issue where transferring data between multiple PS4s will result in the game crashing at startup that appears to not be fixed as of patch 1.08.
I have a launch PS4 and a PS4 Pro that I use on two different TVs and if I want to avoid the issue I have to delete my PS+ data, then upload all the data that I have on the PS4 I most recently played on, then delete all the data on the PS4 I wish to tr...
Game has a lot of performance issues on the regular PS4, Pro is better but still far from stable. It's still a very good looking game and has some good tech but it's far from perfect in this respect. Too many hitches and stutters that result in a momentary drop to 0fps.
Tested on PS4 Pro this morning using my LG C8, HDR is definitely not fixed. Didn’t have time to test it on my Xbox One X because the Xbox version requires that you restart the game and change HDR settings in the system settings, and the update hadn’t downloaded yet for some reason. Still, safe to assume if it’s still not working on PS4 Pro it’s not working on Xbox One X either.
Sounds like it probably isn't fixed. My guess is it never will be based on how long the game has been out. Patch notes made no mention of it.
I wouldn't be shocked if 8K was supported by some games, usually simple ones visually or 2D games while most AAA titles will be 4K or less (with reconstruction and all sorts of other things). I'm betting next gen consoles have even better hardware features to enhance checkerboard rendering and other reconstruction techniques.
I don't think it needed that much of a delay, just needs a few more patches to iron out some of the performance issues.
Your observation about the $300 msrp is something I've also been curious about. It's surprising that the PS4 is still $299 given its age but demand has been high enough to justify keeping that price.
When the new consoles come out I suspect we will see the X and maybe Pro discontinued since the new machines will play the old games anyway, and a price drop on the X to under $300 seems unlikely due to how much the current model costs to make. That would also explain ...
Yeah, at least an all digital X could help bring the price of an expensive device down, the SAD isn't even cheaper than the S generally.
I won’t ever get one because the idea is unappealing to me and I already have an Xbox One X.
Presumably the X since it's newer and more powerful.
No one will give a shit about PS4 games by the time that happens, we'll be deep into the next-generation by that point.
