Forbes constantly defends Xbox missteps and poor performance.

This cable has an SoC built in it that performs some upscaling functionality to improve image quality on low resolution sources. It's not really just a regular HDMI cable even if it is ultimately not worth the asking price.

I think we're going to experience a recession in the next 18 months and the cheaper the PS5 the better. These devices are so service and accessory heavy anyway that they'll easily make that $100 back and they'll pick up customers they might not otherwise. I'd pay $499 because I'm an enthusiast but not everyone will.

A lot of people are confused or concerned about pricing because the Pro is still $399. Sony could sell the Pro for a lot less if they wanted...

No they shouldn't, there should be one PS5 at $399 even if it means Sony initially selling it for a loss.

Indies are only a selling point when you don't have good AAA games to promote.

Update makes it so the game freezes at launch on my Spider-man PS4 Pro.

Pretty cool that this is still getting support.

The most thorough implementations of RTX so far use Vulcan, not DirectX. Sony announced ray tracing support for the PS5 before Microsoft announced it for the next Xbox anyway.

These articles are dumb, console makers are free to invest in and differentiate however they want. You're not entitled to Playstation games just because you have an Xbox and don't want to buy another console.

It looks very poor compared to even the launch ps4 and Xbox one versions but the fact it works at all on a portable is pretty neat.

Probably true if it actually has hardware ray tracing support as stated by Microsoft and suggested by Cerny, as the desktop version of Navi does not currently have hardware accelerated ray tracing support. This kind of customization isn't unheard of though, the PS4's GPU had a lot more compute hardware than the typical Radeon 7850/7870 it was similar to on paper.

Overall I enjoyed the game but after finishing it a couple of weeks ago I don't feel compelled to go back yet. I hope the new updates have helped performance because I noticed a lot of stutters on both models of PS4, with the base model being especially unstable.

That's a shame, too young. I've enjoyed GG's work, even their less critically acclaimed stuff like Shadow Fall.

This is an interesting achievement but I wouldn't ever want to play the game this way. I know it's difficult to compare given the form factor but for reference the Xbox One X version runs at 9x the resolution of the Switch version with higher visual settings, and likely a more stable framerate.

It can't but it's not worth it to pay $1000 more right now for a feature that won't be truly utilized until the end of 2020 at the earliest. By that time I can buy a C9 or C10 if I really need the feature, for now I'll keep the $1000 I saved and enjoy my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

I decided to not wait for HDMI 2.1 because all of the TVs with VRR support generally have a minimum supported refresh rate of around 48Hz, making the feature useless for the kinds of games I normally play on consoles. Instead I saved about $1k getting a C8 and don't really regret it. If I really need VRR late 2020 I can put the $1k I saved towards a C10 or whatever releases next year.

This is why kickstarter is bullshit.

It's insane that anyone that already owns Xbox hardware would rather stream a game with additional latency and compression.

Really hoping the next Playstation and Xbox are using a more powerful custom variant. Yeah this will still be more powerful than the X and I'm sure they're will be some big efficiency improvements that stretch that FP performance further but if it's not even 2x as powerful as the X on paper that'll be worrying.

When the PS4 launched it was far more than 2x the power of 360 and PS3 and many people were disappointed at launch with how much visuals improved. Ob...

I got down voted to oblivion when the last upstate released and I mentioned that some people were reporting issues. Interesting that a new update has been released so quickly.
