I don't want to state the obvious...but...no duh.
Wii U sales are bad because
1. The casual market that Nintendo targeted with the Wii are still confused at what a Wii U is. For these people, the Wii U is too expensive.
2. For the hardcore gamer, they don't want to buy a Wii U because it's underpowered and has a weak online gaming infrastructure.
MMOs take hundreds of millions of dollars to make and upkeep. See 38 Studios.
I've heard a theory that the reason why Square Enix's financials were so horrible, despite the good (but disappointing for SE) sales was that the company took an absolute bathing because of Final Fantasy 14.
I like Michael Pachter. He may get things wrong from time to time, but he's a wonderful personality to have in the gaming world.
Has anyone here played it?
Is this the bonus where you get Bf3 premium for free?
I haven't finished the game yet, but with all the material scrapped from the main game, I'm very curious as to what the 3 DLC packs will bring. Play as side characters? Flesh out their story lines?
There were probably bugs they couldn't iron out to make it work 100% of the time, but I remember in the version they showed previously, Booker and Elizabeth could do tag team/combo with her powers and his vigors. But the game that remains is still awesome.
While it's true that people who go on forums constitute a small percentage of the fanbase of a product, these are the most fervent, most hardcore of consumers. These are the people who buy and download more games than the general public. These are also the people who will give positive or negative word of mouth to their less informed friends.
In regards to the 720, Microsoft does need to assuage a lot of fears and concerns.
Plenty of Xbox fans concerned.
Somewhere in the world, Tomonobu Itagaki just frowned.
I've read a few theories and the one that makes the most sense is Square Enix put unrealistic sales projections on Tomb Raider, Hitman Absolution and Sleeping Dogs because of the HUGE amount of money they lost on Final Fantasy 14.
While most people who play Battlefield do for the multiplayer (count me as one), there are a significant amount of people who don't hook their systems up to the internet and play only the single player. DICE has to try and make a compelling reason for them to pick up Bf4 and play.
They didn't disregard Battlefield youtube commentators. Popular ones like Lvlcap and RivaLFactor were there (don't know if I got the spelling right), it's just that they also invited a bunch of CoD youtube commentators.
For the core Battlefield community, this may be seen as selling out, but we have not seen the multiplayer yet and what it will be. While I prefer a Bad Company single player style campaign, I will give DICE the benefit of the doubt on what they a...
Uh...Sony decides to ditch a proprietary, difficult to develop for architecture and use off the shelf, PC parts for the benefit of developers...and it's called cheaper?
EDIT: Also, rumors point to the 720 and ps4 being very similar in specs and performance, so how is that making a cheaper system that's weaker?
I'm a Battlefield homer and I wish them the best of luck with Bf4. Drama and empathy are difficult to do in stories for FPS because you're shooting hundreds and hundreds of enemies. Comedy and spoofing is easier to do, which is why the Bad Company campaigns are well loved.
Somewhere in the world, a little smile just crept over the face of Tomonobu Itagaki.
Finally, a demo that isn't a gig or two large.
Adam Orth did Microsoft no favors.
