Maybe it's nostalgia, but I remember being actually scared playing RE1. The music, the camera angles and limited resources always had me on the edge.
With RE4, 5, and 6, it seems they moved it more to an action game, and less a survival horror game.
Sure the tank controls were clunky, but there has to be a way for the people who hold the RE reins to get that feel back.
I have tried a couple of different first person shooters on my iPod and iPad, and they all left me wanting.
Without dual sticks, a fps just doesn't feel right on a mobile device.
Are you objecting to DICE or EA? And, yes, the Army of Two franchise was a dud from the start.
Campy if it's done right. Hopefully, not campy because of horrible translation and voice acting directing.
I'm confident Bethesda will hire good writers and voice actors. Hopefully we don't get any "Jill sandwich" dialogue.

The difficulty lies in the fact that publishers see all the money that CoD has made for Activision and wants their developers to mimic that approach to bring in the money...but it doesn't work that way.
Just as MMOs crashed and burned trying to copy WoW, FPSs will not find an audience being a CoD clone. Hopefully a studio will be resolute and believe in a game they're making to force publishers to allow it, and it finds success.

What you say makes sense, except for the fact that someone may have an extensive library of games and don't want to spend extra money starting all over. When my first 360 red ringed, I had about 8 or 9 games. I had the same 360 fixed 3 times by Microsoft and it kept red ringing, so I bought a used system, that one red ringed and a bought another used one that is still ticking.
If you call it banging my head against the wall, so be it. But, I had already spent almost $50...
Kind of hard to do that when all the people who made those games have left the company.
Until Google fiber gets mass market penetration...no. But, I'm looking forward to the day it does.
Analogies aside, they probably don't want to call it a successor to the ps3 to avoid consumer confusion.
The non-forum reading, gaming website reading public hears that the ps4 is the successor to the ps3 and might think, "Hey, my ps2, played my ps1 games and my ps2 games worked on my ps3. I'll get the ps4 and play my ps3 games on it.

I haven't picked up Skyrim with the hope that they would release a GOTY edition at some point in time. Hopefully, my patience will be rewarded.
Hmmm...Microsoft rumored to have a TV tuner in the 720. Now they're rumored to be looking for exclusive content. It's all about the games, for me, but this is an interesting window into what they might be trying to do.
