"you'd lose a lot of customers that way"
That proves the point exactly.
Porche certainly sells less than Toyota, yet we allow for the fact that it is that way because of the prestige and performance that it offers. The fact that they sell less is simply because of the different market segment that they target. If you weren't hell bent on hating Sony, perhaps you might see it that way.
You may argue that you yourself do not need to pay for the performance. On the other hand, it is unfair to say that customers who buy their products are ripped off. I...
You don't seem to understand the difference between cheap and reasonable yourself.
How would you know "no one seems to be buying it"? Got a link, or just making things up as usual?
Perception is certainly important, and I'm sure you're doing your every bit to influence it. There are roughly 23 million PS3 users, and most would be in a position to use it as a media center, and show others about its capabilities - i'm sure the perception will only improve with time, if it is not already there (no need to tell us all about your perception).
Funny that, I have a laptop that doesn't even have a blu-ray drive, and it is just a superior media centre to the 360 i...
Wow, so much so that the PS3 is actually selling at a faster rate than the 360?

If the PS3 is "non existent and faded", I could say that the 360 imploded on itself by comparison.
would you rather they sold you an egg for $0.05, and called it a netbook? It is certainly a lot cheaper, and right up your ally, right?
The P series itself does have strong specs for its size. As for the limited edition, I don't think you got hurt over it, so just chill.
If it didn't make sense to you, would you not (in good faith) regard it as a mistranslation? Why hold them to their word when it was not their word afterall?
That "ease of transport" is just a euphamism for having to wait for a download. It would be naive to think that internet video piracy is popular because of "ease of transport". Only you could, I guess.
Digital download certainly has its fans, but its market is still dwarfed by physical media. I wonder why that is.
"There is already a huge DD market, it's just mostly illegal bit-torrents."
Why do you think that is?
Ok, maybe i'll make it easier for you. It's not because of the downloading aspect of the activity.

The first paragraph:
"Sony will offer Blu-ray Disc (BD) devices in a wide range of product lines and prices and aims to increase the global market share of its BD products from 20% currently to 50% by the end of 2008..."
certainly reads as Sony's marketshare among BD capable devices. The second paragraph does...
How is it lost in the competitive argument? Don't you pick your charities, or do you give it to them all equally? If the ultimate philantropist has to choose, which console would he pick? You don't think Kamikaze was genuinely interested in helping cure cancer?
You obviously forgot core size reduction and more compact cooling solution, as well as cuting down on the number of daughter boards.
Loving your negative re-spin on it.
How can a difference of 33% not be significant? the blu-ray owner's intent is already at 85% (they obviously included PS3 owners, since standalone owners would have a 100% intent). Blu-ray proponents would be laughing to the bank if most of PS3 owners are intending to buy discs.
The initial expectations obviously did not account for the economic downturn, and the revision is to be expected. I don't think that necessarily puts the f...
I don't think anyone can fault Sony for travelling beyond the mold of what people believe to be a netbook. The features included in the P series make sense for someone who wants performance close to a full sized laptop, on the go (personally i love the built-in GPS). The price is certainly justified by the features.
Just as Microsoft is for unreliable hardware AND software, right?
Indeed, a shameless attack.
Way to consider the actual argument. Yeah.
How does the media center help make things even?
WTF are you talking about, mynd? the PS3 has intergrated media streaming, and supports any DLNA compliant software.
Just going by your list, Sony has several avenues (certainly beyond that list). I think they're in a position to withdraw their IP property from Hulu if they chose to.
