The author is the very definition of an anti-gamer - absolutely devoid of any gaming spirit, and filled with malicious intent. This can't possibly be a site for gamers, to suggest that one entire gaming faction should be given up on.
And to spread their article over 7 pages is very telling about their desperation for hits.
I personally didn't mind seeing the entire XMB even though I know some functions are disabled. Who knows, Sony might progressively try to increase the number of functions available (like the web browser), so I don't mind seeing those icons as placeholders for future function.
It is also something that PS3 users are familiar with, so removing some of the structure of the XMB might force users to become familiar with yet another structure.
PS3 users are a heterogenous group indeed. If u read the messages here, there are quite a few who are genuinely upset by the change. There are some who don't really use Hulu, and there are some who can't even use Hulu (outside US). To lump the PS3 users together and make some kind of judgemental comment about them all speaks more about you than about them.

Great news indeed. Even if it does not include the graphics synthesizer (i think what EE includes or does not include is debatable), it does confirm Sony's commitment to enable BC. Otherwise, why bother patenting it?
I also think they don't necessarily have to retire the PS2 before they enable this, as it would only increase the PS2 audience by quite a bit (PS2-less PS3 owners, lol). But i can understand why it wasn't a priority for them.

Well, isn't it like lamenting the fact that Porche will never sell as many cars as Toyota? I think it is fair for both 360 and PS3 to think that the Wii is not really in competition with them. The audience is quite different (with the occasional overlap such as myself).
On that note, does it matter what the absolute positions are when there are complicating factors such as target audience and differing launch dates?

Hulu remains free for most web browsers, and the decision to alienate PS3 browsers can only be described as arbitrary.
