Averagejoe's right, Kojima Productions is developing Silent Hills, Konami is the publisher
@RevolverX
I believe the rights to the engine still belong to Kojima Productions, since they created it. Even though Kojima was working under Konami, much as MGS, Konami cannot claim the developers engine either.
I'm not a lawyer or anything so I might very well be wrong
[Edit] MGS is actually owned by Konami, which makes me ...
Huh, here I thought I was alone regarding GTA and Half Life
For some reason I just can't get into them, nor do they make me want to play more the next day.
Havent quite figured out yet why..
I mostly agree with the article, a good open world RPG can give you 100s if not over 1000 of hours of playtime.
Many years after buying games like Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim Im still coming up with new ideas for characters to try out, sometimes even discover new hidden stuff.
Though that doesnt go for all open world RPGs by default
On the other hand a more focused game with a great story and atmosphere can be just as memorable and worthwile. But...
Hmm yes true, something to take in consideration before you choose
On the other hand though, many MP games often need some issues to iron out. Usually when picking it up after 6-8 months or so, the MP is abit more stable/balanced
Too many games yes, but you dont have to play all of them.
If you're short on time or cash, just pick the ones you're most excited about and leave the others as a filler if there arent any games to play.
I maybe played half or less of the bigger titles released last year
No need to hoard all games on release date if you know its too much, take it slow
It would be interesting to have like an universal list of criteria for all reviewers to base their reviews on if they are willing. And are to mention that the review (score) is based on that list
On one side this will take care of most bias and unfair comparisons or expectations
On the other side.. it could take a sense of personal opinion away, which you sometimes need to judge wether a game ''feels'' right, and not sterile or uninspired
I think DS3 is too open-ended to just ditch Isaac, since he is the only one with the markers' blueprint planted in his brain.
Though a new character would be a nice fresh start, and a chance to take a step back from the Savior of the Universe type of plot. Perhaps more confined and personal
''You have to kill evil creatures in order to protect your land/property that you built, therefore the games soul purpose is violence''
So according to that logic their own police force should be banned too?
Im guessing thats why they called it White Night, since the night is usually black. A nice play with words
@Swiggins
What exactly is there to do about it..? Politeness and respect on the internet are about as likely to happen as world peace
Its an issue yes, but not a solvable one
Up until now it is the reality we live in and have to live with, despite gender or race.
I find it amazing how an article like this stirs up so much again. After the countless articles before, and the countless same arguments, people still go at it like its their first day on n4g
While it would be really cool to tweak around with lets say car/engine parts, or being able to assemble a weapon or armor in great detail out of many different sorts of scrap, it would probably become too complex and time consuming for most people.
A crafting system like DayZ (mod) would come close, though much more refined and in-depth.
I think the dev stated that micromanaging and stuff didnt fit well in the pace of the game
Ive been looking forward to this game since its first trailer,
now even more so after reading :D
Some really cool gameplay mechanics, hope it all turns out well
I believe W3 will be a very atmospheric game, but not stray too far from realistic environments like Final Fantasy does for example. It just happens to be the games design
Though i personally have no doubt some of the vistas will be breathtaking. As well as your first encounter with certain creatures/monsters in the wild
So, a rating website for journalists indepentenly?
For them to sink $20.000 in this makes me believe they know what they are doing but, how exactly is this going to stop those people from writing crap articles? (be it under a different name)
Or stop other people/readers who are unaware of this campaign from reading their articles?
What about the rating system being gimped by multiple fake accounts or something of that nature?
Maybe im...
Interesting, i might give it a shot:)
For some reason, I really dislike fights where you have to focus on multiple enemies (prime example The Ruin Sentinels boss, or DLC gank squad)
Just end up circling around waiting for that one small time window to attack, and chip off a tiny bit off their health
I much prefer a good and fair duel
I personally never found reviewers to be trustworthy by default. Same as with book and film critics, they all try to steer shit to their own hand, either for ideals or profit
Im sure there are some reviewers that actually are honest and dont try to push their ideals onto others, and its a shame that other reviewers put them in the dark.
Best thing to do is read multiple reviews, ask your friends that played it, maybe rent the game if you have the option, an...
Yeah that doesnt add up, so i doubt this rumor is true
Though games here in EU are getting more and more censored which is ridiculous, especially in Germany. No idea why though, itll just give US based stores more sales from shipping
Got to love illogical censorship
Certain people seem not to.. some are so convinced of their perspective that you're better off teaching a rock to play classical violin
