''However the real question should be, "Is Until Dawn the best Horror Game this year?" I personally would say - Yes it is.''

Don't forget SOMA in 10 days:

Its kind of this emotional roller coaster (due to the difficulty) that gives DS a certain edge I think

Common cycle in Souls games:

1. Enjoy going through levels with relatively easy enemies.
2. Run into a ridiculously hard boss at the end of level.
3. Get annoyed after your 10th death by said boss, sweaty hands
4. Stop playing the game because of frustration, tell yourself you're done with this shit.
5. Try the boss again ...

While I usually switch between games aswell (mostly 2 very different games), I think I'm going to make an exception with these two.
I fear one might prevent me from getting absorbed into the other, being somewhat similar type of games (3rd person action, open world)

Tough choice which to play first though, guess ill just flip a coin:D

One of the main differences between Dark souls and BB is the amount of weapons, tools and playstyles you can use. I'm sure Dark Souls 3 will have a ton more options than Bloodborne, so if you prefer strategic combat you can just go that route, I doubt they changed that approach.

It just gives people who liked the fast paced dodge n' slice style from Blood some room too.

Interesting, what about off-hours? Let's say as an in-house programmer or concept artist you have your own project going(a program or paintings), more as a hobby, but use your own equipment at home to create it.
Thats all yours right?

Cant wait for this game, I need my horror fix:D

I don't like the fact that they disable the missions/episodes after a certain time (from what I understand atleast)
They basically take away content you've bought, so you won't be able to even replay that episode a month later if you enjoyed it.
I don't know, I'll need more information on how this will work before I'm even considering to buy it

''Support the devs/pubs that do dlc right, don't support the ones that don't...''

It basically boils down to just that.

I think greed and exploitation is a part of any industry, where money is to be made, these two follow.
Some will jump in with both feet, others will not. One part of the industry will be riddled with these things, the other part will not.

No need to completely cancel out your hobby, ju...

Yes their development may cost alot more, though the companies making AAA titles have grown immensely as well over the last 20y, as did their budgets. Not to mention the general player base is 100's millions strong todays, which kind of balances it out.

These developers have the manpower and $$$ to create these games, and so they make them, it's thanks to the growth of the industry. If the costs/profit ratio would be that dramatic, we wouldn't see the industr...

Or playing a combination of both timelines, John Marston's young gang days alongside a (now) slightly older Jack Marston who's showing signs of falling in the same outlaw lifestyle as dear ol' dad, due to the misfortune upon their family.

There's definitely a lot of room to different approaches for R*, hope they make good use of it

@dead

Exactly, for what it is, it's a very well done game.
In reviews like these it seems to be personal taste>overall quality.

The game is well polished, story is well constructed (although leaves a lot for interpretation) and audio, voice acting and music are all really good. It's good value for $20

I think as a reviewer you should be able to view the game for what it is, not solely base the score on your personal taste...

What could be more of an issue is those animations triggering whilst fighting a large mob. I have no doubt you'll be invincible in the short duration of the animation, but it could break your killing flow a little.

I might be overthinking this though.. would be nice to have a standard rifle butt/swoop to knock enemies down while retaining your momentum.

Just a little detail, nonetheless I'm super pumped for this

I somehow find 3 months to be frighteningly close..
Come to think of it, Fallout 4's E3 presentation was already 2 months ago. It's closing in fast :D

Each to his own sure, but I don't think it's a great game by any means.. it lacks in almost everything its trying to do.

If you see 4 people crouching in front of a cave shooting the same wave of enemies over and over and over, for 3+ hours straight, it's gotta raise some questions about the games' design no?

The only thing that I did occasionally enjoy was the PvP, but that too was thrown out of balance real quick

I'm giving it 3 months

If anything, it all looks a little too familiar.. some features from past FPS games coupled with a setting from past FPS games.
Not sure why they haven't shown/created anything fresh, something that sells the game.

I'll probably try it nonetheless though, viva la resistance
