Breaking My Limit

Yeah but these are tech demos. Also, does Raytracing affect other effects? I mean is this even feasible for a game with 30 TFLOPS or just demos?

I remember the FFVII tech demo a decade ago, and while it looked almost as good as PS4 it was only under those strict demo parameters.

Main thing I'm saying, is is this more of a PS7 thing than PS6?

All they need is:
-support: put a few lesser studios to work on spinoffs of major PS5 titles for the PSP3
-microSD support for games. No more proprietary bullshit memory cards
-720p and everyone's happy
-L2/R2 and if they can get L3/R3 more power to them. Especially needed for that remote play.
-5.5 inch screen, and bring back the OLED!
-50/50 on 5G support. If they can do remote play or good multiplayer over the connection then I&#...

No excuse? The Cell has to be emulated on it which is damn near impossible for every game. It would turn into the same scenario where Xbox has a development team to gain compatibility with every game. Infact PS1/PS2 would be the same way, although much easier.

The only BC that's native is PS4 because it's the same architecture. Also, the fact almost nobody owns a PS1/PS2 disc makes this an extremely tough prospect. If they reverse engineer to get the games runn...

What I want to see:

1) 10+ TFLOPS, 16 GB GDDR6/GDDR5X plus some extra DDR3 for system functions(maybe 14GB GDDR6 and 4GB DDR3 or something?), and a 2TB HDD. Even if it's $459-499 for everything.

2) Good subtitle support. Plex has to burn in some subtitles when streaming from my computer.

3) Smooth OS. A little eye candy as well, but overall I want to be able to access PS Store and my streaming apps without it taking forever.

Hot damn. I prefer the older style logos though.

Hills of Silence? That sounds just as freaky as Silent Hill TBH.

It was the devil of MTs. They've changed it but most of us don't care anymore. They pulled some crap for two games in a row now.

Maybe I'll pick up BFIII

If I have nothing to play in 2019 that is.

I mean I like the idea of buying some Indies, but unless they can transform them into AAA quality titles they'll always be behind.

2899d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Eh, it's pretty true. They simply don't have enough time to produce new AAA 1st party IPs before gen 9. That's IF they decide to make one, which isn't even likely going by this generation and last.

More Indies than ever!

Disagrees with objectivity. Amazing.

Why in the hell would they unveil it now? We haven't even gotten the 7nm node yet, so we'd be paying the same damn amount for the same damn power.

Next year the earliest, once we've gotten Ryzen 2 and Navi and can get 9TFLOPS for $399(probably a bit more) or 12TFLOPS for $499(probably closer to $549 though).

I've got a feeling we'll be looking at some kind of compromise like 10TFLOPS, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, and vapor cooling for $459 or s...

What? This is exactly why freesync is a good thing. If it were hitting 60fps it would be useless, but now it can play 45-59 fps perfectly for when it's not hitting 60. That's the entire point of freesync. So there isn't judder when 60 isn't being hit.

Also I hope this allows custom fps in the future. I like HFR but not 60. Let me lock it at 40-45 fps in the future.

The price would be around $550 for all of that. By 2019/2020 we're only on the 7nm node which means a 2x jump in power.

To get 12TFLOPS you'd be doubling X1X's power at $499 which is already taking a loss. Then you add in 4GB additional RAM and a larger HDD because of 4K games and you're well into that $550 territory.

There's no way in hell we'd get that in 2020 at $399, maybe 2021/2022

I'm thinking 9-10 T...

Sony fans never said it was dumb. They said it was dumb to invest in that and not new games. MS pools a ton of resources to play 360 games but can't produce a new AAA 1st Party studio.

We all enjoyed BC on PS1/2/3 where it was affordable and didn't hinder new game production. We didn't care for it on PS4 because it would have been costly to rework every game, especially those designed around the Cell.

With PS5 most should work without patch...

Need to try this.

And I hope Square goes back to trying to capture the charm of previous games. With KH3 and FFVIIR they've got a chance to bring it back.

2908d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

True. The Pirates world in KH2 looked so advanced for it's time.

Personally, I think if they made a console on the level of XB1 they would have had more sales. They can get near Pixar quality which is perfect for their games and fans like myself have been waiting on for a while.. They'd also get more 3rd party support which makes it more appealing.

I still remember the original Zelda Wii U trailer and how much nicer and darker it looked than BoTW. All in all I'll play Nintendo again one day but not buying Switch. I'll buy...

Diablo 4 please. And make it comparable with Lost Ark.

Also, less cartoony graphics, and no need for a Switch version.

2910d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

4K60 will happen but won't be the standard. To increase graphics and hit 4K60 it'll easily be 2022 or later and Sony won't wait that long.

Unless you're looking for a $600 console.
