I think it will. 2.8 showed the progress they made pretty much a year ago and it was pretty solid. I think 3 will come out either late summer or fall next year. I still boot up 2.8 and can't fault it- it's the best system we've had and plays like a dream.
FFVIIR doesn't have a release date. I wouldn't expect it until late 2019 the earliest, but wouldn't be surprised if it was cross-gen with PS5 either in 2020.
Other exclusives too, like Dissidia NT and Ni no Kuni II. When PS gets the best 1st party, they get support from the best 3rd party. It's only natural and it's too damn much.
Or or or, if PS5 is backwards compatible, sell us a 4K60 update DLC with upgraded character textures or something for $19.99.

Whew, good the only AAA titles are DQX and XI, and one of them is a last-gen port. Keep the AAA focus on PS.

-Ridiculous amount of Materia to implement and balance
-The fact this isn't just backdrops and midi tracks, nor is it 3 characters standing in a row, it's a fully 3D AAA ARPG- the amount of AI work and everything else is much, much higher.

Really? FFVIIR is a AAA game on the front-running system. It's 40-ish hours long or longer, and will likely have new content.
Conversely, many other linear games get finished in 10 hours or less and cost $60. I think the price is plenty fair.
