@fatbastard11 you cant call something a compromise if the hardware can't run it. That's scaling not optimizing. Devs that have to downgrade assets because there are problems are doing it wrong. You dont maxed out a engine and then downgrade and call it a optimization. They are just over promising.
Optimizations aren't compromises they are logically tuning stuff that causes issues with no benefits. Would you render parts of a objects that isn't visible to the player? If the player found out would they be mad?

The downplaying will continue until its release. Title is like "Is the Scorpio a powerful console?" and fanboys go "Its doesnt have games whats the point!" "Im tired of hearing about it!". I say wait for E3 and if MS doesnt show that Scorpio was the reason for 1st party silence, then we should be marching in the streets complaining.
They will mostly be built for X1 and then upgraded for Scorpio because anything the Scorpio can do, the X1 can do, just a reduced quality.
Consoles have not reached the point of diminishing returns, developers have.
