Well pc gamers havent had to deal with cpu bottlenecks in forever. How about this CPU handles game logic so having a mobile cpu in a console wont help push gaming forward when the bulk of budget goes to graphics, then you get the question "How does this change gaming"
And no mod support. #4theplayers
Microsoft is in a position where every time they listen to the fans it helps them out in the long run whereas the position Sony is in puts them into the mindset of Profit > Games. They denied EA access because if they allowed it the gamers would see the games that EA access is giving to its members and that would makes some cancel Plus memberships and that forces them to gives free games for the month that are not those games. Then, its "Why ask for BC when you cant buy the games ag...
Might wanna cancel that since you have the PC version.
Bethesda pretty much said its because of 1. Not being able to use player made textures correctly and 2.Sony keeping their super special audio codec closed to the public so mods wouldn't be able to feature audio When Sony made their codec only available to them that pretty much shot any user created mods that are not already built into a game in the nuts. Hopefully one day they allow other open source codecs available to the system unless that is 100% hardware based.
So releasing FREE mods that MAY have a impact on performance that is 100% USER chosen is worse than allowing PAID games to release that is GUARANTEED to have performance issues. Like have you not seen all of the games that have been released on PS4 that runs like shit?
Those games are just glorified level editors whereas Fallout 4 mods lets PC users create and upload to the game. Those are "user generated" fallout is "user created"
Ok the issue was known, guess what they tried to fix it and Sony didn't want to help and instead said no to those features. They could have enabled mods then you would have no sound and then say its their fault because Sony wont help them fix it.
READ IT CAREFULLY. Its not about it having to be a Microsoft supported codec it's that Sony has a codec that they wanted to be special and the console wont play any other codec and Sony wont give access to the codec. Its not their fault that Sony wanted a special codec that only they can access whereas all other platforms have open codecs.
If that's the case then Sony needs to fix their OS if allowing someone to download a game file would leave them open for a hack.
@lennoxb63 A piece of software can only pass through as much data as a network allows, Sony doesn't have unlimited bandwidth but Microsoft has more to use per user.
If they are doing a "pro" version of a console shouldn't it come with the latest technology? If saving money is your concern then you have NO reason to go with this over the base PS4 aka it is not marketed towards you.
Yeah because 4k TVs are the norm right and anyone who has a 4k console wouldn't want to use that to watch 4k movies right? Of course everyone wants to buy a separate 4k Blu-Ray player when the One S comes with one right? right?
Remember GPU prices get cheaper every year. RX 480 this year is only 200 bucks and runs at 5.8TF so a GPU bought through bulk by next year will allow for very cheap prices.
Why not upgrade current PS4 consoles to 4.2TF then? Since we are bypassing the hardware restraints now.
Because Sony is the one of the reasons that Blu-ray is even where it is and having a "4k" console and not have a 4k drive is stupid. The thing cant do 4k games right and now if someone wants 4k media content they have to go directly through Sony or sign up for another subscription service. How do they let a half gen console like the One S have most of the features and more than the Pro and still call it an upgrade.
You cant just add teraflops together, it doesn't work like that.
Wish he stops saying "penetration" lol
And the fact that PC gamers try to praise Steam when they pull dumb shit often but when EA, MS, or Ubisoft try something new they automatically shit on it with for no reason.
Still testing those non-native DX12 cards I see.
