I don't really believe that's the new mobo....in terms of cost effectiveness, it is much cheaper at this stage of the cycle to keep the separate GPU/CPU setup, and spend that development cost on chips for the next console...a CPU base off IBM doesn't just magically combine with a chip by ATI off the bat, R&D and new fabrication line cost $$.....and a lot of it.
silent hill says hi
The thing that really gets me is the menu system on the 360... feels totally cluster f*&$ed. maybe just that i'm not use to it, but i find myself lost in the sub categories easily, where as the ps3's hierarchy folder short system is more friendly ...
They even have a sandbox PC demo during the Intel's first quad core CPU unveiling event. And I was looking forward to that game ever since.... now they just have to go and axe PC version....that makes me a sad panda >.>
fyi, those are not for actual games....these shot are rendered using cryengine, BUT they are like CGI for movies...there's no real time interaction. + those are not real time rendering....not even a high end gaming pc can do it....yet...
No... i want ZOE....
This is not gona happen until batteries can provide twice as much power and last 5x as long as the current mobile batteries does.
personally i don't mind that they won't let you go prone...it actually make me feel like the good old days of CS all over again >.> except we got tanks, big maps and lots of covers and crap to blow up this time.
+, the fact that there are projectile physics just make prone target very unbalance when targets at long range. Also the maps are so big that's one way to discourage camping.
On the technical side....all I can think off is having your body parts sticking out ...
Do i have to remind you that this demon only have 1 gun unlocked? things well get better once u get all the unlocks, the game is not balanced for the 8 guns they have in the demo...the total is like 30...+ pistols
Played the early beta on ps3, even though it's one map, I had more fun than MW2 >.> everyone should at least give it a shot =P
The fact that you can control the vehicles just add so much to the game.
this only wrok with the fat ps3s.... since all slim doesn't allow other OS...can't really see it make that much of an impact
Full screen full bloom is getting old(like 3years ago) and annoying imo...
I'll bet that IF he release any source code of ps3's OS, the only thing he'll be getting is a butt load of lawsuit. The source code is more than likely to have IP pattens, and trade secrets which Sony can build a case on.
Unlike cell phones, which sell does not effect by unlocking carriers, (if not actually makes it sells more) Sony will suffer directly due to it, and I just can't see they'll sit there watch it happen when they know exactly who is doing it.
Let me tell you why, in boxing, you do move, but within a very small radius(in which can be cover by the cam). In FPS, u move, run forward, sideways but how far? how fast? jump, hop over objects while moving, do 180 quick turns(while facing your TV). multiple actions at once(jumping + turning + moving forward). To implement motions to do those tasks and make sense to the user at the same time is not as easy as you think.
Turn you're face to turn camera? while your eye on the TV? ...
FPS is one of the hardest to incorporate motion capture(the range of movements needed) so my guess is games with more defined movements such as sports(like boxing etc), racing game will come first. FPS games wont come till the programing is in a much more mature stage.
looks good, only problem i see is that they use a PC+cam+360 setup... which means that all recognition and detection is on board with processors for the final product, cost is really an issue now. I just can't see they subsidies much for it, but my guess would be a less powerful set for the 360(there a limit on how much accessory can cost before sells just go flat) and full out on the next xbox.
In the end of the day tho, nothing is better than sitting in the couch with your feet...
The way I see it...
MS - A Show
Sony - A Conference
Nintendo - ??? + Mario + Matriod - Zelda = ???
Can't really put a mark on any of them -.-
In terms of games, great lineup for sure, we gona see great things(except that halo spin off)
Facebook, tweet, are not for gamers, and I don't think people will think of xbox as a social networking tool anytime soon.
Now Natal...Awesome and cool looking tech, BUT there are few questions.
First, I have nothing to say about the accuracy of the motion capture, they've done a spectacular job with it, but small latency issue have to be address, hardware resource req...
signals, sure, but I don't see how fps/tps games will leave controller behind anytime soon.
Turning your head and keeping your eyes on the screen is stupid and unnatural, try to do that with your computer screen or TV. Fact is that it's better on paper than actual doing it.
In terms of AI, unless you want to stand 2feet away from you TV, the cam just not powerful enough to do full facial recognition. Which show in the demo and pretty much all other AI recognition we...
FYI, Natal will lock out 1 of the 3 core in order to reduce lag(how much memory usage is unknown atm), so you only get 66% of CPU to work with.
