lol so halo was the first fps to have outdoor areas? Just off the top of my head I think think of a little game called goldeneye that had plenty of outdoor levels about 5 years before halo, and I'm sure other fps did it earlier than that.

Good read. I was the exact opposite, got the ps3 first then "strayed" to the 360. Happy with both now though I"m hoping haze and uncharted might be good enough to give me a reason to put mass effect down for a while and use my ps3 more again this winter.

Why bother comparing the overall number of games for both systems when the 360 has been out for over twice as long? Lol yea 1up is so biased they don't even try to hide it anymore. Even their 5 things they didn't about the game still had some praise. 10-12 hours isn't really that bad though if its a great game from start to finish. Plus you know the multiplayer will be massive. Gears was even shorter and I definitely felt like I got my money's worth from that game. I've got a long list of stuff I want to play this season but halo is definitely on it.
Great news. I loved the dreamcast and was sad to see it go. I hope more dreamcast classics can make it. Its not really the typical game you'd see on xbla, but being able to replay Shenmue on the 360 would be awesome.
Yep, I had a ps2 for 5 and a half years and it was going strong right up until the point when I gave it away and picked up a ps3. I left it unplayed for a summer once and had to open it up to clean dust off the lens after a disc read error, but other than that it ran fine. Both my ps3 and elite have worked fine for the few months i've had them too.. the 360 even runs cooler than the ps3 most of the time. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself, but I've never had a console die on me ever.

No way, the challenge is part of what made the game great. It forces you to get into the game and become really good just in order to survive. Kind of like devil may cry 3. I loved the difficulty of ngs and hope ng2 is just as hard.

Shenmue is one of the best games ever made. Just like ico and shadow of the collosus, its one of those games you can point to when people doubt that video games can be art.
