Funny, I thought the whole reason Doom 3 was so mediocre was because it played EXACTLY like the Doom 1. The gameplay was revolutionary when the first doom came out, but it was overly simple and lacking at doom 3's release.
Either way you have to admit, for its time doom 3 was visually amazing. It was the best looking game i'd ever played at that point, and still looks better than some of this gen's new fps games.

How could anyone tell anything from that pic? Not only is it not a direct feed, its also taken from pretty far back, and is totally out of focus. Its like a cheap camera phone pic, and people are claiming they can tell it looks better than/worse than first resistance. Hilarious.

Colbert is actually watchable because its decent satire, but John Stewart has turned into the most pretentious douche since that show got huge. It was actually a better show back in the 90's when Craig Kilborn was the host.
No way, give me great bosses and lots of them. The most memorable parts of my favorite franchises (mgs, gears of war, zelda, metriod, god of war, ninja gaiden, to name a few) were the amazing boss fights. Bosses are just part of gaming and are here to stay.
I saw it this morning on my way to pick up gta4 before work. Its actually pretty cool looking, and beats the hell out of the devil may cry stuff they had up there before.

I'm all for new ips in gaming, but for a dark tower game to be any good it'd have to be an rpg. Probably something along the lines of fallout. An action dark tower game like they described in the article would be god awful.
Its not a question of "if", its more like when. Theres no way something as ambitious as home can work without any bugs right out of the gate. Even live, which is far less complicated than home, occasionally runs into problems when a spike in activity happens when a big title like cod4 is released. They'll probably release patch after patch to fix the problems as they come up.
40-50 hours is way too long for a game like mgs I really doubt that's true. 20-25 hours including cut scenes would be fine with me. and btw whats an idiot named "gaystation" doing posting in the gamer zone?
I have zero interest in home at this point. Just give me in game xmb and that "accomplishment" gamer score clone and i'm fine. Sony is shooting themselves in the foot by trying to bring us this huge home upgrade and delaying the hell out of it, meanwhile features that should have been with the ps3 at launch are still absent a year and a half later.
I agree 100%. Its all about how the ads are used, and what they're advertising. In sports games they're fine because they seem natural, we're just used to seeing a to of ads along with our sporting events. And if games do inject a lot of ads, gamers should see some of the revenue in the form of cheaper games, kind of like how the special edition of rainbow 6 vegas had a ton of ads but was dirt cheap (only 19.99). Seriously, just check amazon. Most new blu-ray movies there are only $2-3 more than regular dvds. And a few months after a title is out you can get them in the 15-20 range. There are also plenty of occasional deals around the holidays where you can buy one get one free, get three for one, etc. And thats just amazon. plenty of other sites have deals and prices like that also. If you think blu ray discs are really that much more expensive than dvds you just aren't looking around.
