SNK arcade quality
I bought Pure when it came out and wasn't planning to buy Pacific Rift. I loved the first Motorstorm but never finished it because it was too hard. Over the weekend I got tired of jumping around and doing tricks and decided I would rather race in a race game so I sold Pure and got Pacific Rift. Motorstorm:PR is a real racer :)
I couldn't sleep and was flipping through channels on TV in the middle of the night when I caught a LBP commercial on Spike TV around 1:30 in the morning.
But why are you insulting DICE like that?
Sure if you have an HDTV you can see a bluray is crispy but not everybody has an awesome TV. But even people who don't have HDTVs have some type of surround sound hooked up today. Being able to hear things you never did is not only helpful but essential from now on. Seriously, take this bit of advice - buy blu ray for the audio. You will never have to ask anyone "what did he just say?" because the layers of sound never overlap.
Any time a multi-platform game is superior on the PS3 it seems to only get average reviews. Hmmm, funny how these things work out.
Motorstorm Pacific Rift is full of colors and quite vibrant.
Let's start complaining about Fallout 3 while we're at it :)
I watched the E3 footage etownone posted but the destuction in Red Faction looks very similar to the Bad Company game from EA. Sure there are physics involved, but they are focused on large scale destruction. I've seen footage from Killzone 2 where the player shot a metal barrel that was on the ground and it reacted with weight and looked believable unlike anything I've seen in video games. That was just a barrel. It's one thing to have explosions, but showing an actual sense of weight is...
I've known for quite some time that the levels of detail to the physics of each object is mind-blowing. For video games in general Killzone 2 is the closest you can get to reality.
What's the point of comparing turds?
I've seen plenty of reviews saying the game is not as visually impressive. I don't know why? It looks better than the last game if you ask me. Also I like the controls better on this one as well because while still being arcadey this one has more realistic vehicle attributes a player has to take into consideration.
No way this game should score lower than an 8 from any review.
Can't say. But if it were true then that would mean the PS3 would be around far longer than the already promised 10 years and Sony could continue to make it for a long, long time.
Bubbles for you both :)
You forgot viral marketing. Most of the most influential marketing is when it comes from a source you think is unbiased. People believe everything more when the company or product name is not directly attached to the positive news coverage.
Marketing is a powerful thing. Microsoft's game division has cool print ads and commercials and it seems as though Nintendo and Sony don't even try to compete in that area. I would be curious to see how much each company spends on marketing and if I had to guess I would most certainly say Microsoft spends at least twice as much as both Sony and Nintendo combined.
Dead Space rules! :)
Normally an online purchase is not charged until it ships and at that time the MSRP is used. I've never used Amazon so I can't say if people who put an order through already will actually get the lower price, but good luck to them.
PirateThom, I was thinking about buying the Destrroy All Humans new game coming out in December because I want it and Gamestop has it listed right now for 39.99 and they say you get a free bobblehead too. Do you know if Gamestop is one of the stor...
I'm tired of hearing how this WWII game isn't as fun because of old weapons and such compared to COD4 with its new killer tools. Basically I think these complaints are shallow and if they were true then all space shooters would be better than COD4 with its modern weapons because the space shooters provide superior space age firepower. It almost looks like all these reviews are not reviewing the game on what it is and is trying to do, rather they are reviewing the game wishing it was another...
I was skeptical but I stopped by Gamecrazy on Sunday and they had the game playing. For overall presentation and crazy moves it can't be beat. I don't even care about the lack of killer finishes anymore because there is still plenty of blood. I haven't been this excited about a fight game since the 90's :)
