Sony's baseball game is the greatest, but Sony's basketball game is crap.
It looks like the best. And even if it plays less than the best because it looks like the best I'll deal with it :)
If the story was better, the evironments not so bland and empty, if there wasn't a generic looking lever to pull every advance point maybe it would have been better.

It's funny how there are not many 3rd party games made specific for the PS3, but then one of them (MGS4) winds up being touted as one of the best games graphically. To me this is funny because I know Sony thinks the world of the game studios they have in house, but there is just something about 3rd party games that makes me wonder what type of games would the PS3 produce if 3rd party game companies really tried to design and release a PS3 game without an intention of porting it in the future...

If Sony woke up from a bad dream tomorrow and said "Let's just give away PS3's in 2009" I still have some doubts that things will be much different. See I have a feeling that even when Sony lowers the price on the PS3 I don't think it will ever go lower than 299. Sony still won't drop the PS2 price under 100 after what, 8 years? A game machine at 299 is not going to win over machines that are substantially less. I don't think not being the system with the most sales is important...

Unlike many of the other posters on this story I actually like Pain. It's a party game. Get a group together, have some drinks, and play Pain bowling. If you still dislike the game then you might be better off playing Wii Sports :)

Aside from the ADD crowd, everybody should realize having to wait for a game beyond its initial release almost always offers more content and overall game fixes from customer feedback.
I actually hope my system of choice gets the second release :)
I bet they strip all the bells and whistles they can from the slim and sell it dirt cheap while still offering the regular model with all its bells and whistles.
Developers must continue to work with new technology that's able to provide the power to break the imaginary wall of belief otherwise they can stick with 8-bit game design.
