@allformats:
Wouldn't that suggest that we all should be gaming on PC, instead of the inferior next generation consoles?
Wouldn't it mean that since we all buy consoles, develoeprs have been targeting consoles and leaving out the awesomness of as you put it:
"The same power that lets you do those things is the same power that lets you present more immersive art assets, makes an AI routine a little smarter, makes a character anima...
@gerbil:
"everytime the numbers confuse me I think about my 1st grade teacher and remember 4 is a bigger number than 1 and it all makes sense again"
How about I give you a 200 cents, and you give me back a 100 dollars?
Surely 200 is larger than 100, so I'm doing you a favor.
=D
I think it is completely opposite, as once the hardcore gamers initial buying dies off, the real appeal of the consoles to the masses comes out.
MS can appeal to the wifes, sisters and mothers to exercise with their fitness and group Skype with full skeletal tracking, heartbeat monitoring. Heck, Im looking forward to this myself.
Then there is the dad and kids that loves sports that will appeal to fantasy sports and the sports centric apps and TV going on whi...

Nirvana bliss!
The servers will go down, but it will have little to do with Azure.
Most network problems related to gaming are due to being bottlenecks that occur due to design issues i.e. unpredicted traffic paths.
Now of course server stability is also important, but that is where you Azure, an enterprise class cloud responsible for many billions of dollars worth of projects on.
I think our puny games will be fine!
@staticdash22:
Except XBL Compute is built on an enterprise class cloud. It is good enough to host some of the biggest workloads in the world and probably handles billions of dollars worth of data.
Is it early? Yes it is, but it is likely the most built out gaming cloud anyone has in the world.
@newmonday:
Can you prove that Titanfalls is confirmed 720p?
Frankly even if that was true, I would care less becau...
That is one f'in fantastic idea!
I might have to do that too.
It could happen, but Kinect One knows if you are facing it or not, and if you are talking.
That means it can determine if you are commanding the Xbox One or not. Maybe they can program a different word instead.
It isn't hard to press a button, but it is much faster to just say Xbox On, Xbox Play Vevo.
Or you can look for the remote, turn on the TV, turn on the console, select the app, then start it.
I think I know which one I would take in a heartbeat.
Now now, that truly was a steal, because at the time of writing it is going for £ 6700.
Any other takers?
@Thantalas:
Actually, I think most gamers just care about games, the features, and well what else it can do.
The vast majority don't care if it has 1.4 or 1.45 flop this flop that.
Personally, what consumers should care about is what is pertinent. Pertinent things are what would you like to do with your console, what games you play and how do you like to play them!
All this other nonsense is for fangirls to wage their wa...
Nintendo has a business approach that means in general they are always profiting. That is how they survived the war against Sega and even during the Playstation hey day.
I have the deepest respect for Nintendo, but this approach of not copying is killing them fast. It sounds great in theory, but in reality, Nintendo Network sucks.
They need to step it up fast!
Either way, Nintendo will likely survive this generation, but not sure about next....
@dragon:
There is no delusion about it. Case in point:
* KZ Shadowfall has proxy servers, not dedicated servers.
* Titanfalls exist because MS could provide the cloud power needed and Sony couldn't.
* CoD has proxy servers on all platforms except Xbox One
It's clear who is delusional.
@death:
Except the CoD servers are the same as KZ. They are proxy servers, not real dedicated servers processing physics, AI and the like.
In real use, it is P2P on all other platforms.
You can call it misleadingly by dedicated server, but it won't improve your experience like *REAL* dedicated servers.
That is good news, but I fail to get excited about indie games. The vast majority are duds, and there are very few I could honestly say I enjoy.
@flutterby:
if graphics alone was so important, why aren't you on PC instead?
Clearly consoles has it's merits, and people choose them often times over graphics.
I love graphics, but I love my console way more.
Dear F, NO!
You play your PS4, and let my Xbox One be alone. I like Kinect!
Kinect is one of the differentials that matters between Xbox One and PS4.
@death:
So much amazing fud there you are spreading.
First of all, the resources allocated to UI and Kinect is only 10%.
The real problem with Xbox One is likely immature drivers, tools and technique. It is very early in the game, just like how it took years for the PS3 to mature and reach parity with the Xbox 360.
@mars:
Not at launch, and we don't really know what MS has up it's sleeves.
MS is the third party exclusive master.
Holy f'in f!
It is now going for over £ 130 000!!!
The ebay fees alone could buy you a few Xbox Ones.
