@Captain Qwark 9:
Most of the games you mentioned aren't for me. Of Sony franchises I enjoyed are Uncharted and Last of Us i.e. Naughty Dog games. Third party games, I'm only interested in CoD. BF4 campaign looks interesting, but I burned myself really bad on BF3 campaign.
"if i didnt know any better, id say they actually have people researching on gaming websites and social media to see what the people want. i have a feeling games, games, and mo...
Has Sony stated that those games will release in 2014?
Last generation Sony promised plenty of games like Agent and Guardian, that never saw the light of day.
Next year, MS has Titanfalls, and no set date, but they teased Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive among many others.
I think MS consistently make sure there is new content coming, either from first party, second party or third party. Whereas Sony back loads all their games, meaning poo...
I think, since there is little hype and downright hostile towards Ryse it might surprise. It might be a sleeper hit, based on the positive previews.
That said, most excited for Titanfalls, Quantum Break, Project Spark and Sunset Overdrive.
Sony on PS4 like last generation on PS3 started slow, so take your pick.
Do you want games now, or games later.
Personally, I take launch games now on Xbox One. After all, after a while 3rd party games are a plenty so I have consistent new games the entire time instead of being back loaded.
It is early on, that the new consoles need games, when there are few.
It is not just the best looking X1 title out there, but it is among the best looking game on consoles, if not the best looking game.
That said, graphics alone doesn't make a game. Gameplay and overall experience do!
Looking forward to try Ryse!
This game certainly looks really good!
I cannot wait to try it, and I hope it is going to be as fantastic as the graphics are.
With a almost perfect transfer from 720p to 1080p on blu-ray movies, most people can't even tell the difference.
Yet somehow a cartoonish game somehow does?
Unless you put the game side by side, you can't tell jack squat in a blind test.
Ironically, that extra enemy (or pixel) you see didn't help the metacritic score of a paltry 74% for a Sony flagship game:
http://www.metacritic.com/g...
Also, makes you wonder how small that enemy is or even significant, if you can't see it at 720p or even 900p.
So Yoshida, I call your bullsh!t!!
I am surprised Yoshida didn...
I think the fact that consoles not really hitting the golden 1080p at 60fps is a testament that these specs no longer are important to games.
I'm glad developers are focusing on more than what is the best decision for the way they want you to experience the game, rather than be driven by resolution and frames per second just to hit those numbers.
If you want that, go PC, but then you have other problems.
No platform is perfect so just pic...
I think Xbox One has a killer launch lineup, and Titanfalls in March next year, it is something to really look forward to.
KZ Shadowfall is the only game I'm interrested in on PS4 of all games shown, and that turned out to be a dud as evident by the poor metacritic score of 74%:

@thext:
So allowing code to the metal is Sony's idea?
Sorry, but low level access has been available since the dawn of computers when you coded in binary, then assembly.
Mantle has nothing to do with the ESRAM.
"This is exciting news for PC and PS4 owners and not so much for Xbox One, as developers will face the same hurdles as they did with Sonys own PS3 and cell processor with the Xbox Ones ESRAM. You figure Micros...
LOL!
So misinformed. The reason why Mantle gives a significant boost to PC, is because it is geared at a low level to ATi or should say AMD graphics cards. It bypasses the higher level of DirectX or OpenGL.
With consoles, you already have pretty low level access and hardware is fixed, so you don't need as much high level to get around compatibility in trade for efficiency.
Thus Mantle has extremely limited benefit to consoles.
Proof it works!

I spotted plenty of bad news about MS as well, among the article on privacy.
Point being, Edge was blamed pro Xbox 360, yet here it is b!tchin and moaning just as load about the Xbox One.
There is no significant bias, just your idea of it, since it doesn't match your agenda.
I think Naughty Dog is the shining star, and possibly Shenmue 3, but the others... not so much.
The consensus despite the few high scores of the games are that they suck:
KillZone: Shadowfall
Metacritic: 74%

Knack
Metacritic: 59%

That is the thing, Sony just looked at the PS3 shortcomings, fixed it and released a console. Unfortunately, there isn't much innovation going on there in advancing anything other than putting more expensive parts in a cheaper packaging.
If all you want a console to play games on, then PS4 is for you.
If you want an all in one console, then Xbox One is the right choice.
I'm going with Xbox One, Day One!
@jacksons98 below:
I'm a heavy gamer, that would classify myself as a hardcore gamer. Yet, I don't just consume games, but a lot of other media.
To me as a gamer, the Xbox One actually fits my needs better. I do skype often, I do u...
@kneon
Infinity has stated identical on Xbox One and PS4, except for the resolution.
That means, the asset must be identical too.
Sometimes people want things that aren't necessarily the best choices.
They just don't know better, until they experience the better!
Basically, people don't like changes.
