Kinect One is setup by default to listen even on off for "Xbox On".

It does feel last generation, as it is extremely similar to the PS3. The gradient look made famous and modern in the 90s, are now old fashioned, and the flat look is the new modern.
I think, Sony is going to toute their advantages, not their weakness.
So Sony will trump 1080p as they have, and MS will continue to tout their features, interface and community.

Imagine if the public was outraged about the early adoption of ethernet jack on the original Xbox?
Who knows, we might have gotten stuck with PSN they way it was in the early days and a focus on PS Home?
Point being, the cloud could have been great, be we won't know because we can't know every Xbox One is connected anymore. If you wanted that experience the PS4 does it fine, why bring Xbox One to the same functionality?

I loved the idea of going all digital, with instant access anywhere I go with internet access and shared game library with 10 other people.
I am rarely ever a place without internet connection so I would have loved this!
I can't remember the last time in years that my internet went down more than a few hours.

However, a $99 device doesn't do everything the Xbox One does, not even close. MS could team up with cable providers and bam, accessible instantly!
Those customers obviously don't care as much about monthly fees.
My guess is Sony's implementation and functionality is going to be even worse than the first Kinect.
If you are referring to Xbox One, I don't think it is inferior, but rather not as graphical. On the flip side, the Xbox One does everything PS4 does, but likely better in trade.
Imagine if back in 2000, the public (or fangirls if you may) said they didn't want an ethernet port, because many didn't have broadband and instead wanted a modem?
We wouldn't have the awesomeness of what Xbox Live is back then until today!
