In the end, it is the content and features that will win consumers over. How many $500 iPads does Apple sell every year?

I think the "market leader" is likely to be Amazon. Amazon succeeded in pushing out Nook in a crowded Android tablet market.

Remember, Amazon actually has an ecosystem that "matters". They successfully convinced me to get a Kindle Fire by giving free apps, cheap ebooks with convenient access on all devices and music with their mp3 cloud.

In short, being able to access Amazon Prime movies, music, games and even books on a fixed hardware fro...

@dedi:

"However, the "ecosystem" that Sony has been creating over the last few years with PS+ and now PS Now makes the system a more attractive choice."

I wonder if people will still consider PS Now "attractive" when the consumer price tag finally revealed, and they realize that the experience is full of encoding artifacts on the video feed, and the input is laggy.

It will make regular laggy multiplayer experienc...

Ohh, ME3 DLC discounts.

Gonna get some!

As far as I can tell no interresting games from EA on Xbox One or PS4 for me.

Haven't had a single problem on Xbox One or Xbox 360 for me. Rock solid!

Netflix in general is the most stable streaming service out there. Consistent high quality feed.

If the games were running as badly as Bayonetta did on PS3 with sub 30fps all over the place and significantly reduced resolution, then I would see it as a problem.

Games are all running at smooth 30fps or above. In some cases, the frame rate makes for a lot smoother game like on CoD: Ghost on Xbox One instead of the 1080p on PS4.

Most people won't notice or care, because we are reaching a point that gives diminishing returns and only fangirls with an age...

MS exclusivity = money hatting, greedy, bad for game industry

Sony exclusive = good choice, dev is focused, great game, day 1 potential

The double standard is ridiculous. I wonder if we would still be playing mostly single player games without MS pushing online connectivity on consoles?

Sony certainly wasn't pushing it when PS3 was released, let alone PS2.

@Hicken:

That is laughable and full of BS. Sony d...

I loved overrun and capture the ring!

The strategt required in those games was fantastic. Not just run and gun!

Although that is fun too! :D

I enjoyed Gears 3 the most and played it the most. In close second I love Judgment fresh take, but was saddened the community died way too fast. Even today, many of my XBL friends still play Gears 3.

I cannot wait for this next installment in Gears.

Sales of PS4 is outpacing Xbox One by infinite percentage as MS has sold 0 units in Scandinavia (well except for import units) i.e. MS doesn't sell Xbox One in Scandinavie so why wouldn't PS4 overtake it.

It would be extremely strange if PS4 did NOT!

The fact that MS bought Gears of War IP is the best thing that could happen to it. I doubt Epic Games could maintain quality with Tencents investment into the company and messing around with it.

MS got the best deal out of it and ran away with the best part of Epic Games other than Unreal engine business which is multi-platform anyhow.

MS doesn't need that. There is a huge chance Gears of War will rot with Tencents terrible management making their top dev...

Who f'in cares about "the power"?

Seriously, if I wanted "powah" I would get a PC. PC has consistently been the powerhouse every generation since the start, and it has never been overtaken by console.

Yet, I prefer gaming on console, not because of this "powah", but because of the games, the experience and the ease of use.

I'm saddened to see if this 8% released resources in the future turns out to gimp t...

@cgoodno:

We won't miss you!

But why not support cutting edge technology that hopefully will change the way we game?

Why go for the same old, same old. Forgotten how we used to play with mouse and keyboard, and now we prefer controllers?

Simplicity and immersion is key to move the gaming medium forward. I don't want to be stuck in the past simply because it is the standard.

So I guess Gears will take full advantage of Xbox One!

I hope they integrate some awesome use of Kinect. Gears and Mass Effect is the two franchises I enjoyed among the most last generation so I'm thrilled we are getting both this coming generation!!! :D

This has been going on for a long time and is not the first time. Just another major ratings company doing it!

If Sony doesn't turn around soon, it will go the way of do do i.e. bankruptcy.

Just to put it in perspective, Sony stock is among the lowest it has ever been in the last two decades and that is ignoring inflation! In the same time frame inflation has almost doubled.

Maybe it isn't MS that needs to spin off Xbox division, but ...

I love how armchair marketing experts are talking it up, but why don't they actually give us a detailed plan of what they would do?

Personally, I think:

* the Wii U had a horrible name that is easily confused. Either a rebranding, or at least a huge marketing campaign to explain the new console features, but more importantly the next few points

* Wii U needs a lot more games from first and second party that takes advantage of the Wii U ad...

I agree, but I love Gears of War too much so I would rather have CliffyB work on it. Too bad, but Rod Fergusson is on it!

Although I think it would be nice to play the older games with the new Xbox One controller, I fail to see the real need for this.

Last generation, BC would mean an upconversion to higher resolution done by console instead of TV doing it, which usually results in poor results and a wireless controller with party/cross game chat.

There are few benefits to BC on the newer consoles. Rather have MS work on actual real features I love the instant switching, and sna...
