I actually like Polygon, but Polygon like other mainstream gaming news site suffers from catering to headlines instead of good news. Eurogamer is another one I like, but they aren't free from the same issues.

It is an industry problem, that even large sites act like amateur blog sites.

Heck, just take a look at the popular news on n4g and you would know! N4G is the poster boy for this type of content especially with their PS4 biased users and....

Wow!

"We saw the Wolfenstein demo raytraced at 1280x720 and averaging between 40 to 50 FPS, all being rendered on four servers with Knights Ferry at the core. Intel showed off the game visualized on a Dell notebook. All of the frames are sent to the thin client notebook over ordinary gigabit ethernet.

Interesting visual features of the Wolfenstein raytracer include physics-correct refractions and reflections at interfaces lik...

Even if MS had Final Fantasy exclusive to Xbox One, I don't think they will succeed significantly to make a dent in Japan.

Japan is a strongly nationalistic country, with great pride. That means, products they have a long history with isn't easily replaced with a foreign brand. Heck, even a sh!tty American cars, the midwest that manufacturers them frowns upon Japanese cars. So the Japanese being even more nationalistic would make it almost impossible.

The resolution would have been the least of my concern, when you are lagging out on P2P with proxy servers on KillZone: Shadowfall multiplayer. When that @sshole on the other end is messing around with your game using a lagswitch, or cheats. Heck, just the host advantage is enough to piss me off!

Cloud services and dedicated servers for the win!

In multiplayer, dedicated servers (or cloud if you may) is far more important than resolution and frame rate once y...

Sony dropped the ball, because they didn't have the cloud infrastructure nor the services required, so Sony did not respond to Respawns request for their massive server needs.

From there, the ball kept rolling. It was developed for Microsoft platform on MS cloud technology, and eventually MS negotiated exclusive rights It all makes sense.

The fact that Sony would give you P2P with proxy servers on KillZone: Shadowfall, a flagship launch game and IP is ver...

If you buy it from Uplay store or Gamestop, you also get the Super Samurai dlc in addition to what everyone else is getting!

Why are there no reviews of this game yet?

So would you say an average cellphone outputting 1080p games are of the same graphical quality as a console one?

Once you start focusing on resolution instead of other things that matter, you get the Gigahertz war again. Pointless, and has minimal benefits to consumers at the cost of "heat". In this case, resolution in trade of actual gaming benefits.

I suspect, if the shoe was reversed between and Sony had the 900p box, we'd be hearing more abo...

This is what MS does best.

Iterate and add features to the existing console. Glad to see MS isn't slowing down the updates, but rapidly ramping up with more frequent releases!

Just as long as these updates aren't too frequent and get annoying though....

I think frame rate is overrated in multiplayer. Why?

The frame rate only serves to make the game slightly smoother, yet a laggy experience online will negate any frame rate increase you have.

In a similar vein, resolution increases just like graphics has diminishing returns. Games are hardly noticeable when massive amount of computing power is added.

Just see the latest crop of games on PS4/Xbox One compared to previous generation.

Yeah, it is unfortunate that not more devs are using the trigger rumbles and Kinect. I hope MS picks up the mantle and pushes it so it becomes a standard that is well integrated into games.

The feedback from the trigger rumbles in Forza 5 was fantastic. I cannot wait to feel the difference of firing different guns. Firing the Gears gnasher, sawed off or even the mortar will be awesome!

So I hope Respawn patches it in.

Sounds like the guy is bitter MS didn't care about his tiny game engine used by a bunch of indies. Sorry, but it seems to me that indies and those surrounding them tend to be a bunch of whiny people.

Just look at blowfish and their ilk!

That said, there are plenty of indie developer saying positive things about Xbox One, but you won't find them on n4g, where mods and people with lots of bubbles are pro Sony/PS4.

Go ahead, do a search ...

Didn't know that, but Gears was my favorite multi player game last generation. Heck, I still play Judgment Overrun and capture the point all the time. Probably until titanfall drops!

Really looking forward to the next Halo whatever game it will be!

@kingdip90:

I understand how you feel, but your argument is exactly what is wrong with society today.

Instead of progressing it, we ask that things be held back to accomodate a niche group.

For instance, since you don't have internet service, instead of asking for said service to be available, you ask that we hold the console progress back a decade so a very small minority can enjoy it at the cost of gazillion other users.

Only idiots or ignorant people thinks that.

HAVE YOU ever been to GDC?

It is a major chance to learn a lot from a variety of sources, including the big studios not just indies in their talks. You also get a chance to connect with people.

Obviously it is not just PR, as there are way better ways to do that!

Sounds like a case of ignorant dev, blasting his mouth.

When you join ID@Xbox you get all the information needed and Chris Charla isn't exactly unknown figure here. This particular issue has been discussed many times by other devs, and the same response has been given before.

Doubt his game will be good, because all he does is talk negative about the Xbox One features instead of channeling that energy into creatively make his game better with more options...

Cloud power is staring right in your faces!

Respawn went to both MS and Sony for their cloud power needs, and only MS responded. That is why we have Titanfall. Leave it to Sony and you would get flagship games like KillZone: Shadowfall with essentially P2P online gaming with proxy server.

MS delivered Titanfall with 15-30 ms ping to the cloud almost anywhere in the world.

In sort, cloud is massive computing power on demand, made easy with aut...

No, you got it wrong.

X1 owners like me just didn't want indy games to be used as padded for poor launch line up, nor to pad the future line up.

It is always nice to have more "QUALITY" options, but we want games like Titanfalls, Quantum Break, Gears of War, and so on!
