Is anyone even buying games on Stadia?
That's two that didn't read it.
Nintendo and PC aren't really competitors. They are more complementary than competitive.
No matter how bad Xbox is, Sony needs a competitor, or we can expect them to start charging $100 for games.
Some people can spend $300 on one night at a restaurant with food and drinks for the family. Doesn't strike me as a big difference to throw that money on some electronic.
I mean I guess we can assume that all of the new console owners have been gaming for a while and already know about and have played every previous gem. Or... we can assume that some people are just getting into it for the first time, or even the first time in a long while.
That depends on if the scalped consoles get resold.
Obviously, people are spending crazy money on a PS5, so here was one of my thoughts.
Set launch PS5 price to $1000.
Every month, discount the PS5 by $100 and provide all registered owners of a PS5 a $100 PSN gift card (which should somehow be usable to purchase physical goods from Sony).
Repeat until PS5 price is $500.
This way people who must buy early can spend the big bucks to Sony, and eventually get their extra money back via rebate...
Now we just need the retailers to: "We are not accepting returns of PS5 consoles, exchanges only."
And now it's 1.75M in RISK.
Spit balling here.
Option 1) Increase the price and announce plans to decrease it overtime.
Example: Sony sells their initial PS5s for $1000, but was open enough to tell people, that they would drop prices by $100 per month until the price lands at $500. Then there would be zero incentive to scalp knowing that your product will decrease in value over time. The unfortunate side effect is that people have to pay extra to get an early console, but at least e...
You should probably look up the definition of communism.
Seal it. Stamp it. Send it.
@Sully.
I agree with you completely which is why I also don't think it will come anywhere near PS5 / Series X in terms of technical capabilities. We'll be lucky if it can match the PS4 Pro.
Gamecube launch price: $200
Wii launch price: $250
Wii U launch price: $300
Switch launch price: $300
What ever makes you think a Switch Pro will cost more than $500?
I wanted a Series S. Not anymore though. May not even get a Series X if it's going to underperform PS5.
I couldn't care less about 4k. But I do care about frame rate, and if the Series S can't keep up in that regard, then I won't be getting it. The price is nice, but that performance is not.
Same. I didn't mind lending cartridges but I don't trust anyone with my discs.
All they would even need to do is to keep taking orders and just fulfilling them as shipments arrive. So let people order now and get it in January or February, whenever. Then there's no rush to beat out the bots. And the bots are discouraged knowing that people are always able to place an order. The problem now is that people can't even order these new consoles.
They would have to have both agreed to launch next year, one delaying without the other would've resulted in too much lost ground for the one that delayed.
I haven't lent out a game since the early 2000s. That said, I wouldn't want to take away that ability from anyone who wants it.
Did PS TV ruin gaming as well or is it only ruined when Microsoft does it?
