@Shiken it took the original over a year to reach 6 million. The 5 million from ff7 remake was as of Sept 2020. So really, they're pretty comparable. Though ff7 remake has sold slightly faster if you look at the launch numbers. I think the original was 2.5 million during month 1, and the remake was 3 million during month 1. Either way, the differences are pretty small, so it's too early to say whether or not one sold better than the other.
Nope, but I also saw the final fantasy reference.
Personally, I liked both. I beat Octopath Traveler and the FF7 remake, Trials of mana remake, and currently working through Dragon Quest 11, and plan on picking up Bravely Default 2 at some point in the future.
2.5 million is significantly less than FF7 remake's 5 million and the latter was over a few months.
I want in. How do I get my $3.50?
Depends on your definition of fair. Nintendo products have a premium just like Apple products, so in terms of value, you'll always get more going not-Nintendo or not-Apple. But the resell value of Nintendo (and Apple) products tend to be much higher than those other products. Prior to the direct, the going price on eBay for a used Skyward Sword was ~$40. Some people were paying $80+ for a brand new copy. Later this year, you can get a brand new copy for less than the cost of a brand new c...
Exactly. Nintendo has conditioned us to pay top dollar for their games given that they never go on sale or receive a whopping 30% off for a few days after being on the market for a few years.
And because they do that, you can't even find discounted games on the used market either. The going price of a pre-owned Skyward Sword on the Wii on eBay is ~$40.
People can wait out Sony or Microsoft's games because they will discount the price massively wit...
People vote with their wallets, don't want to pay $60 for a remaster, don't buy it. Just don't be mad that your vote is small enough to not matter. I wish it was less than $60, but $60 won't stop me from enjoying a great game on my Switch.
The trailer had characters from the expansion though.
From my phone, I absolutely can't tell the difference. Looks exactly the same.
Why would Nintendo release a game and sell it for less than people would buy it for? It'll start out at $60 and then probably be sold at a "whopping" 30% discount after a year or two. I encourage you to vote with your wallet. As all people should.
The thing about Mario kart is what can they add that wouldn't work as DLC for Mario Kart 8?
Joycons and the N64 controller are the only controllers I've ever owned that eventually started drifting. All dual shocks have been fine. All Xbox controllers have been fine.
Definitely worth $5.
Both consoles are selling to way more than just hardcore fans. I know plenty of casuals still trying to get both. People who skipped previous gen entirely.
Online or local wireless multiplayer where everyone gets their own screen.
That's the main selling point for me.
Plus Bowser's fury is a nice bonus as well.
Xbox is very popular in UK and US. Can't speak for other countries. In UK/US, an Xbox console will be very hard to find for the near future (probably until the 2nd half of 2021). PS5 is very popular everywhere it is available. So whoever produces the most in UK/US will definitely be who sells the most in those two countries. I imagine this is probably true for other countries as well, but I couldn't tell you which ones.
There's a lot of mixed messaging with this game. I think the initial reveal mentioned timed exclusive, but then those videos were removed, and I don't think there's been any further comment.
The fact that you can do online/local wireless multiplayer and everyone gets their own screen makes this a day one for me.
I wish ultra street fighter 2 wasn't dead.
Welp. Ps5 just got pushed up on my to buy list. Hopefully I can find one by June.
