I'm too old for lollipops and I'm not into gimmicks!

As long as we get one in the next year or so I'll be happy. I'm excited because I know a lot of Microsoft studios are already working on release date games for it. Also Ryse is now a 720 title, Epic is working on something as well.

Cant wait to hear something about it. We might actually hear about it at this years E3, even if we don't see anything on it.

I liked Bungie years ago, but honestly they haven't done anything aside from Halo. I think Activision wasted their money in signing them to a contract, especially if they are working on a PC MMO. Why take Bungie out of their element? Console shooters are hotter then ever, but then again why compete with yourself and COD.

I'll just always remember him saying "Riiiiidge Racer!" and the famous "Sony isn't into gimmicks" when referring to the Wii and their motion controls.

There might be some casuals on games like Call Of Duty, but the COD franchise has MLG and the most teams signed up on Gamebattles, which is the largest competitive gaming arena.

I don't think casuals are the ones playing and competing their.

There are also a fair share of casuals on Battlefield and every other game. You can always spot them on Battlefield 3 because they are prone in a bush sniping, or the really casual players tank whore or vehicle whore...

343 did a fine job with Waypoint, which is a stat tracking hub. I don't see any difference in this. 343 also did a great job overseeing the remaking of Halo CE, which was fantastic. Still the end of an era.

Too expensive to warrant a day one purchase. If it dropped to under $200 and the memory units come down in price I'd be a bit more interested. $179 would be a sweet spot.

Just Add Water should worry about themselves because last I checked...their games didn't sell well no matter the console.

At least this keeps trolls at bay on both sides. Cant say they are milking Halo with Halo 4 when there is a Killzone 4 and God Of War 4 in the works.

I'm personally not a fan of the series, but I guess Sony must have some faith left in the series.

Zune is quality if your talking about the Movie Market place on XBL, it's hard to compete with Ipods however, the Zune was actually well done but people are obsessed with "Apple" for some reason.

RROD was a bit exaggerated, but I got a laugh out of DVD on your list, seeing as how DVD is still the #1 selling format.

Microsoft basically got away with selling a cheaper console with a cheaper disk format because they knew Blu Ray wouldn't be ad...

ND losing a lot of people lately, I wonder who from the original team is still left?

We should start seeing people say things like "Old ND is dead" and "They haven't done anything since Uncharted 2".

CES is just boring imho. There is never much there and no surprises.

I'm with Microsoft, stop wasting time and money there.

Another negative Kinect article? Who would have thunk it huh? and so soon after we see that almost 20 million have been sold....

You realize all the complaining about how Microsoft is limiting their games from the "core" gamer is all moot if they announce a new console this year right?

It only adds up that they are up to something with all the movement on the games front.

Of course the 360/Kinect are geared towards casuals, it's go...

I'm in America, but I use my Wii quite regularly. Why would you buy something and not use it? sometimes your in the mood to play some Mario or Zelda or Metroid.

I have all my consoles hooked up, I never buy into the whole "In the closet collecting dust" BS. Hell I hardly ever use my PS3, but it's not int he closet collecting dust, it's collecting dust on my entertainment center.

Damn early piano black fat PS3's...

The fact that third party games are better on the Xbox 360 is what is differentiating them from the competition. Things like XBL, better frame rates and less glitches.

This is pretty big news that a 6+ year old console is just now seeing it's best years. It could help shape the industry and give us longer console generations and save us money in the long run.

If you look at 2011, it was a great year for gamer's, but it's obvious the best games wer...

I'm still waiting on those 4-D graphics we were promised before the PS3 launched.

Looks good, despite what people are mostly saying at N4G, it's a definite buy if it's priced under $400.

Of course they are going to slow down, it's like asking why did the PS2 slow down in 2006? The next generation was coming and all the resources go into that.

People cry about the 360 and them slowing down as well...guess what? The next generation Xbox is right around the corner and so the current 360 shifts focus to casual and becomes a "legacy" console like the Wii has become.

Uh oh, looks like Sony has gone casual with the Vita. Clearly adding apps like this instead of focusing on games!

Soon there will be more Kinect's sold in the United States then PS3's.

Anyway, this is fantastic news for Microsoft and I'm happy for them. cant wait to see the 720 at E3.

I know Sony fans kept hoping that the PS3 would catch the 360, but at this late stage in the game, would that even matter? I don't think so.

The next gen is about to happen and it's time to start all over!

Handheld's aren't doomed, they are marketed towards gamer's, while phones are more casual. It's always been this way.

I will say Nintendo handheld's obviously have the edge, no matter the generation. That's not to say the Vita wont be a moderate success, but the price point is too high for me to invest, especially with new consoles on the horizon, we have the Wii U and possibly the 720 this year, so spending $400 on a handheld that I probably wont use ...
