I would like a fps prequel set before the machines took over.
Target and Anheuser Busch are feeling the wokeness effect. But yeah I agree this whole woke wars is getting annoying. I think a company should be judged on the quality of the product and not their politics.
How is it any different from Spiderman, Wolverine, Final Fantasy, and many more games that were on other consoles that suddenly became exclusive to one console?
If the budget for Halo infinite was anywhere close to what the rumors were, they could have created the most expansive game, rivaling Rockstar, with a fully detailed world. There is no excuse with the resources given to them. 343 is like that team that keeps getting top draft picks but keep losing, because the management doesn't know what to do.
The thing is tho is that Marathon is the game that put Bungie on the map. As far as gameplay it was one of the first games where you can fully control your aim. It also inspired the Halo universe, with some even theorizing that the Halo universe is a prequel to it just because the characters are very similar. A Marathon game in the current generation should be treated like Doom. If they want to add the live service stuff and extraction modes, so be it, but the story mode should have been prio...
There's nothing wrong with them wanting a share, the problem is why did it have to be Marathon? A game that had deep lore for it's time, to only be a multiplayer game doesn't make sense. After the trailer I was hoping they would take notes from Doom 2016 or atleast make it a story driven game. After learning that it's MP only, I was like whyyyyy? What is so hard about making a SP game and adding MP on top of that?
I'm an Xbox fan and I don't want this deal to go through. I don't know about the shareholding position, I just know that it can be manipulated. Many years ago, I was told that there was going to be another alternative for low calorie sweetener, but when they did the study they gave the rats the equivalent of 6 lbs of the sweetener and they developed cancer. The people that were told to invest in the other option, all made a good amount of money because of it. Would the other swee...
Exactly this, I think it's nice we have games that you can explore forever with thousands of unique planets, but sometimes all that's needed is a linear stealth game with semi open areas that's only 12-20 hrs long. Why is it only a small Chinese company that is trying with that genre? I can't see what problems Perfect Dark is having unless half the team thinks it needs to reinvent the wheel, like having a fully explorable planet that would put Rockstar to shame.
The way I look at it is that there are 2 types of remakes. A remake that reimagines the game and modifies the level design, gameplay and voices, and a remake that keeps the game the same but with modified textures to make it look modern, like Halo 2 anniversary or Demon Souls. A remaster is just a port with a higher resolution and fps, basically what the game would've looked like at max settings on pc at the time, an upgrade but not a remake.
It was great for a few years, but I shouldn't have to watch a 12 part tv series to understand a new character that appears in a new movie.
The Cod games have been using an engine built in the mid 90s. Nothing wrong with using an old engine if they update it. Bioshock used UE2 and looked better than most UE3 games. Arkham knight used UE3 and looked better than most UE4 games.
I haven't played the destiny games yet, do they really take away the story stuff after every season or something? Imagine if the only way to watch a movie is if it's in theaters and once it's away from theaters, it can't be seen again.
I was hoping they would pull a Doom 2016 and do a reboot of the series, while still feeling like it belongs in the universe. I'm hoping this is just a separate mode and not the full game.
If higher revenue meant more funding for other types of games, we'd have Titanfall 3.
In an age where a pic of a monkey smoking a cigar can be worth the price of a decent house, I'd say they will charge a million dollars for it.
As a fan of Xbox, I just don't get what they see in Activision to want to spend that much. It's not like Cod will leave Xbox if the deal doesn't go through. They should be focusing on getting their AAAA games out like Perfect Dark,
Contraband and Fable. Cod is a great series, but new original games, or revivals of an old series seems more exciting than another Cod.
There's enough food to feed everybody and then have seconds. The problem is that it's required to throw away a bunch of perfectly good food because organizations tell restaurants and stores to throw it away if they want to pass inspection. Only a small fraction gets donated
There's no such thing as a "dead trend" if it's a quality game that people want to play. There's plenty of games that have received critical and commercial success that didn't drastically evolve their gameplay. We shouldn't be like those high school kids that are like "did you buy that from the clearance rack at Saks, I know because that outfit was made last year, how dare you remain in my sight, and if I find out you wear the outfit more than once, I'm ...
Devs should follow what Bungie said about making games you want to make. If it's something you want to make, you would want it to be the best it can be. If you just follow trends or money and have no passion for it, than most likely you don't care about the little details, and rush it just to get it done with. If you want to mix it up from your usual style, make sure it's what you truly believe in.
I'm thinking they're going to do what they did with Minecraft and they'll get a slice of the pie on every device sold.
