Games have ALWAYS been difficult, you just had to CHOOSE the hardest difficulty if you were a hardcore gamer and some games have MODs to make them even more difficult. I enjoy souls like games from time to time , and no they are not more challenging than Tlou or Halo on hardest difficulty especially with the extra modifications. But sometimes I just want to relax after a hard day and not need to memorize a fight pattern while still being challenged.
The more I know of guys like Mark Cuban the less I want them in any industry. Too many middle men in every industry thats only purpose is to tell businesses how to run a business even tho they have no experience or consume any part of the business. Businesses should be run by people that are actually passionate for the product and not just some guy that only sees dollar bills.
I'll take an 84 that's fun over a 100 that is just made for a message or to please the "hardcore gamer". I know I know this is an anti capitalism game, but if it's fun and isn't too preachy, I'll take it.
Here's an idea, just do what Hollywood does with its big movies, wait about 4 months before releasing it on gp. That's the model they should've started with. Noone would've or at least shouldn't have complained about waiting and publishers would still make the total sales for those wanting first access.
I kinda miss when it was standard to have sp and mp bundled. Sure there were mp only like quake, and sp only games like DMC, but nobody complained about games having both until about 10 years ago.
They've been working on a remake for 5 years, and no updates since they said they're working on it. This and the Tomb Raider game that had a "sort of announcement with one concept art that it's in UE5" back in 2020 are really just taking longer than it needs to. Give us concept art or something. I enjoyed when devs like Bungie would give community updates on their projects and keep the community in the loop even if it's very vague like saying "our buddy Dave her...
Or at least single player with a multiplayer component.
I wish it wasn't up to Cod to make a futuristic shooter. This past gen has been very bare of a good sci fi shooter. I really can't think of any at all. It should be a requirement for at least one scifi shooter per year, everyone knows the rules.
People now think that it's impossible to balance a mp and sp in one game and think there must be some kind of dark magic involved to get them both. I miss the days when it wasnt shocking to have mp in a story focused game even if it was "tacked on". Same with co-op, so what if the second player is just a copy of the 1st player, it's nice to have as an option when you want to play with family. People have too much logic nowadays, they think "it doesn't make sense in ...
Let's put it into a scenario that may or may not have happened. Xbox never gets made. Sony is the sole leader of gaming, so they have the online market to themselves.instead of Game pass, Sony is the one that has games immediately on their service. Still no need to buy games at full price and we're at the same position now. I think what needed to happen was for MS to make gamers wait a few months to play it on game pass, like what movie studios do to movies at the theater. They also n...
According to Phil, it was playable and in good shape since 2019 before it was even revealed.
I remember Phil playing Perfect Dark in 2019 before it getting announced and said it was in great hands.
They were doing great with the og Xbox and the 360. They were the underdog that was easy to root for. They weren't perfect, but they still listened to game developers like Cliffy that said he needed more from the 360 to run Gears of war. I'm not sure if they can listen to feedback like that anymore. I guess it's like Valve where they got so big that they don't need to try as hard and just blame it on lack of innovation as to why they don't make games when it's oddly sp...
I hate how companies just view us as nothing more than math equations. Just make a game you want to play and chances are it'll sell millions with good marketing and the name behind it. Greed and lack of creativity is what's killing gaming(which is ironic since so many of these types of games don't make money) unless you make a turn based game which not everyone is into.
And we have all these Internet experts being all like "don't you dare add any multiplayer onto this game that's famous for its single player, it will make the whole game terrible" like just the thought of having optional co op ruins the legacy of the franchise. Sometimes it's nice to have CO op or tacked on mp that doesn't cater to the esports just so you can have an excuse to hang out with your buddies.
It feels too soon to talk about UE6. It feels like UE5 barely got tapped, only a handfull of games really showed its potential.
I personally think it looks pretty good graphics wise. Probably not the best example of a next gen game, but there's only so much you can do with that art style.
I'm not condoning any of this, but I'm hoping people like Mike Rowe are correct and that this would push us to not rely on just a couple countries and give those looking for work a place to work.
It would be like uncharted being rebooted in 10 years and being turned exclusively into a battle royale. Cool if it's just a side mode, but where's the story mode, the thing that put it on the map. Really should have looked at what id was doing and took inspiration from it.
Most of these Oscar winning films are incredibly niche at least these last few years, with only a few hundred thousand to a couple million viewers if they're lucky.
