It's not always about pleasing the lawyer Americans with the Brooklyn accent even if they live in LA. Microsoft could still keep the studio to make it look like they have more than just regular shooters. Alfredo sauce might not be as popular as marinara sauce on pizza but I sure am glad it's an option. This trillion dollar company needs to learn if its about supporting quality studios or cutting them off just because it didn't do spiderman numbers. I'm sure they would still be...
The character Brie sounds like a bit of a jerk, but yeah I can see them going with a toxic masculinity story and if the females do bad stuff, it's only because the males brainwashed them.
H9, same thing happened to me. Sometimes my voice can sound a little bit feminine and they call me mam, not once do I get angry or call it a crime to misgender me.
That's just where they have to get creative. With Halo Reach, they explained that certain weapons belonged to a different military branch than the one we played with in the first trilogy.
I didn't know that about unreal and quake, thanks for letting me know. But yeah I hope if the devs find that people love these universes that maybe in the next installment that they include a story mode for those not interested in grinding hours a day to "get good"
While I do love when devs make a complete experience with a sp and mp like Gears, Halo and cod, that wasn't always the case. There were mp only games like quake and unreal. But I do really hate when these devs blueball us with cool characters and lore only to limit them to a 2 minute cutscene every 3 months if we're lucky. Apex and overwatch would make for an interesting campaign.
I'm hoping it still has the little engine quirks that make it unique, like launching the warthog with grenades or painting the walls with the glowing alien goo and stuff like that.
Yup, the CEO needs a new yacht and private jet
@venom I know right, these games like Overwatch, Apex, Concord and many other hero shooters put a lot of effort into the characters, lore and universe, but don't do stuff with it. Just spend an extra year to work on level design and I won't mind paying full price. I just don't know how devs forgot how to make a complete package like the old days.
I blame it on trying to get Martin Scorceses approval, because anything trying to be fun and not serious is not "cinema". I kinda miss the time when Samuel L Jackson and Nathan Fillion were the only celebrities that were in games.
Last generation of gaming is when we got into what I like to call the Martin Scorsese era of gaming, where everything needed to be focused on serious cinema instead of focusing on fun. Sure there were some games that focused on fun and having a unique art style and there always will be, but now that they have the technology and Hollywood appeal, they're going to try and get Martin Scorseses approval, because that's super duper important. There was a time when game studios just wante...
I know right, someone can say that they have the highest rated IPA and I'll still prefer to have the most basic or even terrible margarita even if everyone mocks me for my basic taste, because I think ipas in my opinion taste like vomit that's stuck in my throat. I think there's no shame in having an unpopular opinion, and not just trying to get validation from others. And that pineapple on pizza thing, it sounds disgusting, but then you try it and then you realize it just works, ...
The way we need to look at these buzzwords is the same that we see when a sports team brings in the best athletes in their position in hopes to bring them to look like a superteam, only to barely win half of their games or lose in the first round of the playoffs. Sometimes superteams work, but when it doesn't it just makes you question how they can't take advantage of their abilities.
@Pete, speaking of movies, Microsoft should copy that business model and sell the games at $70 for 3 months and then let it hit Gamepass after those 3 months. It gives them time to let the game receive a big profit, so for that big game you've been waiting years for that you don't want spoiled, I don't mind paying the $70 a couple times a year. And for those small niche games that don't require a big budget and big profits to succeed, well Gamepass is perfect for that to see i...
Like I said earlier, I wouldn't even mind. There's a good selection of games on GP already, and it gives me time to play my backlog of games while allowing the games that need to sell millions of copies to make a profit a chance to succeed, a win win scenario.
If Microsoft were smart they would let the games sell for 3 months at regular price for a chance at making money, then put the games on game pass after that, like what Hollywood used to do. Even tho Microsoft is a trillion dollar company that can afford to support these companies even if they don't make a billion in it's first year, they have to listen to people that tell them to stop the support if it's not a major success.
I know right, if they were smart they would use Cod, Minecraft, and their big ips that should generate a lot of profit as their money maker, and use these smaller games or games that don't bring the big money as proof that they care about a diverse lineup. Especially if you don't advertise the game, it's hard to expect success, I'm still trying to figure out how Apex legends became successful from it's shadowdrop.
Is he woke?
It looks good, but for it to be a linear game, it should be pushing the boundaries, there's no excuse for it being an open world rpg, it shouldn't be compared to a ps4 game from 2019. This is 2024, being a next gen exclusive and even if it's not going to win the visuals awards it should strive for that. The environments do look really good tho, and if they work out the animations and models, I'll take back what i said.
It's why I see so many hiring signs but then they say they're just taking applications. They want to get the workers in a mindset that they are so easily replaceable. I see a billboard next to a business that never takes down the hiring sign since it was created many years ago. If they really are still constantly hiring that means a high turnover rate, which means it probably sucks to work there.
