They can totally hire people without announcing the game. Many of these games might not even get to the finish line, I don't see the point of announcing it now.
I feel like this game is announced 5-6 years too early, I don't get what they would want to do that. These is more of an hiring ad than a game announcement.
I think it is a two edged sword, they can stop their contents from going to other platforms, hoping to force people to buy into their ecosystem, but if that doesn't work out then they will become more even irrelevant in the VR space if VR does indeed raise up this gen.
Same for the CoD franchise, it is a popular name and has a lot of power, but if they stop it from going to other platforms, it can either benefits themselves greatly, or to risk another cross platforms FP...
I feel like one boss can take me that long. I am just really bad at this kind of games.
@smashman98
There is an online multiplayer mode, I spent 200+ hours there with my friends as well.
@JEECE
Did you comment mentioned anything positive that this article talked about? Such as free next-gen upgrade or co-op progression.
It is not that you can't be excited and want to play old one at decent frame rate at the same time, but you didn't.
Sorry if I overreacted, it is just that I see many gamers whine on the smallest things when the article itself is positive.
Usually I would go with quality mode first, enjoy the first few hours in best graphics, then switch to performance mode when I need the extra frames for more challenging contents.
The game was released SEVEN years ago, and a lot of people bought it at dirt cheap years later, can you really blame them for now doing next-gen patch?
Why not be excited for their new game if you enjoyed their game so much?
Well, 68 Billions spent, and XBox gained ZERO new games, everything that Activision was developing before the acquisition would still be on XBox anyways, same for Bethesda.
So ya, if they had no games before spending $75 Billions, they still don't have games right now. The only differences now is they can lower the amount of games their competitors have, so they RELATIVELY have more games than before.
@Terry_B
And that they still needed to hire Crystal Dynamics to help finish the game, it is puzzling to me.
@itsmebryan
So are you saying before Activision was acquired, they didn't have the money to develop their other IPs? The biggest publisher in the world didn't have money to develop anything else other than yearly CoD?
Sure...
Activision: "We need help, MS, can you please buys us?"
Microsoft: "Sure, and we will pay 45% over market cap for no reason"
Believe it if you want, whatever makes you continue to believe MS is a hero of gaming.
I don't buy this story though, if they are looking to sell, why did MS needed to offer 45% over market cap?
Yup, you guys can try it once we are all done. Enjoy.
They are a trillion dollars company because they cares about making money, not winning a console war so a fan boy feels better.
I pre-ordered Elden Ring (Collector's Edition too), but at the same time, I know I will be very stressed when I play that game, I don't know if I am mentally up for it yet.
You get that right, not even a single point about "Good games" lol.
Nice, spending 68.7 Billions and XBox fans gained zero new games from this deal, everything that Activision Blizzard are making will be on XBox either way.
It is funny they can spent $70 Billions to buy publishers, to make sure the 100 millions PlayStation owners never get to play CoD again. But when you are talking about making one single AAA game (Perfect Dark), they needed to hire talents from Crystal Dynamic.
I have XBox Series X and 3 years of GamePa...
So far MS hasn't shown that they are capable of manage studios, can't tell if future Activision Blizzard games will be better or worse. Spent like $80 Billions and not a single goty contender yet, perhaps they just focus on games that make a lot of money, not necessarily good games.
I recently sold my PS4 Pro for an XBox Series X (have a PS5 already) and with a 3 years Gamepass subscription, I get the appeals of Gamepass, but it sounds good on paper but actually not...
I think "not optimized" gives the illusion that it is a very demanding game, all games studio can crank up the settings of their games so no PC can runs it well. The trick is to still looks exceptional on an average machine.
