I think Ninja Theory tried to pull a Naughty Dog but backfired, they went all in on storytelling and forgot about the gameplay.
No one is purposely downplaying it, I like some of Ninja Theory's past projects, including DmC, but HellBlade 2 is just not a good GAME.
I always like AC's world building. Gameplays on the other hands are always hit and miss. One step forward two steps back. Always try to sell you premium currency is distracting too, breaking immersion.
I wish PC getting good sales would make them continue to support the legends mode, I want to go back to it.

If people cared about the extra pixels and frame rate, they wouldn't be playing on consoles anyways.
For me, I work on computer all day, when I am done with my work, I would rather go to my living room, turn on my PS5 and starts playing. And when PS5 Pro comes out, I will upgrade, still cheaper than maintaining a high end PC for me.

Definitely, and the Horizon Lego game actually looks crazy good as well, there were never a Lego game where everything on the screen are actually legos, it looks very impressive.
Sadly it can be a while before we see those, likely why Jim got fired as well. He decided to make them all push for live service games and then cancelled them, so they all probably wasted a year or two there at least.
That's the effect of Game Pass, they didn't pay anything, don't feel any commitments to play more if they get bored.

I am not too interested in the game, but will likely buy the Lego sets that will be released based on that.
EMS Strike and few stun grenades got the job done. Keep killings until you are getting close to being overrun, then EMS strike at the drill, then a few grenades to hold them off.
Can't wait... I also want another VR one too though... my PSVR2 needs some actions -_-

It is just not a good game, period.
They could have done so much more in terms of combat and puzzle solving, but they spent their time on visual, that means they have no clue how to combine good story with great gameplay.
The Last of Us is a good example, it has a lot of story, decent amount of walking, and many quiet moment, but there also a lot of combat and replay values, and the game's length is 15-22 hours, which is much more reasonable.
It is like saying... "It is pointless to upgrade your PC's graphic card."
No all companies milk a franchise until they are not even relevant.
I will judge it for myself when I try it this weekend.
Too many people are just hating it because it is cool to hate it, making them a "better gamer" that appreciate single player games.
Personally, I need a good balance of single players and multiplayer games. Playing Helldivers 2 and FF7 Rebirth. For me, they don't have conflicts, it is just different games that I would play at different time or mood.
