This becomes even more true as PC hardware gets more powerful yet cheaper. Imagine what it will we like when a $200-300 machine can do Crysis 3 at 1080P+ 60FPS+. Even if that would only be possible in the age of quantum computing, it will still come to pass.
I don't really get why some have the mind set that indie title means it's subpar though. Of course retro indie titles get the most flak.
Back in the days when technology was still improving and devs had to work with only what they had proves this. There was no internet so that meant polishing up the game as much as possible. Every bug left in mattered and couldn't be patched away. Since graphics get such a large amount of attention, of course other aspects of the game suffers. Why learn how to cook if you can make something look presentable?
But I already have the PC version.
Actually, a dev who worked with vanilla private servers said that a single core server with 512MB of RAM is more than enough for hundreds of players.

I wouldn't find it surprising if he's talking about a computer from 2004 being used in this example.
Really losing faith in mainstream gaming as a whole to be honest.
Still feels like a great game even today. A lot better than most N64 titles that IMO haven't aged as well as OoT.
I made another build with new parts.

@ Mark and Kyizen
Used i5 650 + OS + HDD 500GB + DVD ROM for $139.20
A brand new Keyboard and Mouse came with the above parts.
New Cougar X200 case for $39
HIS 7770 I had lying around might cost around $70 to $80.
4x2GB RAM $40 or lower. Hard to put a price on this since again I reused some parts and ordered another stick.
600w PSU I had lying around that may go for $40.

This is really sweet, but what changes were made to the controller?
I've built low cost systems before that can do 1080p 30FPS for $300 before. It's not that hard with either new or used parts.
At least she has the time now to check herself in at a place that can help her.
Why isn't such a simple feature there from the beginning? Wasn't this thing meant to be an all in one media center?
"3 years though is NOT acceptable that's an upgrade path for a PC gamer not for consoles." I don't think you know much about PC gaming to make that statement. If anything, I think MS and Sony are trying as hard as possible to simulate a PC like experience with these new machines, because PC gaming is such a huge threat to them now that so many factors are working in favor of PC gaming, such as;
* Using PC parts with a console budget can provide an experience...
I don't get the point of using the most modern solution possible. I bet games on an Athlon 5350 using it's on die GPU would look just fine and at a super low TDP. The original Xbox was based around old Dell laptops and it did fairly okay.
Exactly. Not useless or dead, just not good enough to force itself into our homes, but instead be bought separately if we choose to.
I feel it's as dead as people make it. Is it a novelty? I don't know.
I do know however that there was a huge uproar where people didn't want it bundled with all Xbones and MS had no choice, but to throw aside that statement about the Kinect being required for the Xbone to work and thus gamers were happy after. The whole point to mentioning that is, there were a large number of customers saying the Kinect wasn't good enough to be required for the system and I...
Good thing Capcom censored that butt slap now.
Sorry, just giving my opinion. People shouldn't listen to me/just listen to me. Outsource yourself on multiple opinions and determine what's best for you.
To what you said above, I'm a PC gamer, so I kinda need a downloadable demo.
k, so delete it.
