@armrdchaos I think MS will launch aiming for all markets, if you look at the way apple sell to the casual market, MS will make it look like box that will do everything like apple does with its ads.
If they make it look cool and if it comes with kinect 2 change tv channel with voice/gesture, record tv, surf the net, apps, music, video, bluray.
Then sell it at a lowwer price than the wiiU expecting to make money back from live and apps/downloads then it may be aiming f...

Based on last gen leaked specs that people seem to not disagree with on game specialist websites tend to be very close, I had heard the ps3 specs long before the 360 came out.
Don't forget it can take year to make a game and final dev kits quite a while before a console ships for fine tuning code.
On paper the ps4 sounds like a more powerful machine if vgleaks are correct so sony would have a massive market share if they released at the same time or earlier than MS and would seriously damage their sales as most people would go with the most powerful console

It makes alot of sense from a business stand point nintendo pay you to make a game and you release a game that has cost you next to nothing to make and you reel in the profits on a console that has sold 9 times as many unit.
As for the vita games will be quite large as it will be nearly as costly as a ps3 game so why wouldn't you make ps3 game instead with a big user base.
Also alot of people already beleved the handheld market has been cornered by tablets and phones

I would even take 30 fps at 1080p if it means better games.
The biggest boost your PC will get will be from the arrival of next get as you wont just be getting frame rate boost and higher res, devs will make games to support better speced pcs only and tie them in the new consoles
@deadpool so even by you example of rage more memory is more important as you could store compressed textures in memory instead of trying to stream them from a slow disk.
For example you could store hundreds gb of highly compressed textures to ram to be decompressed by the cpu core instead of trying to pull it off a disk.
Ram is a hell of a lot faster than any disk based streaming
Core gamers won't die but if your a real gamer you should give everything a go.
Look at the movie industry not everyone wants to watch the oscar winning movies sometimes people just want a mindless comedy that doesn't involve to much concentration
@happytrigger I also hear it will have a separate sound to take off even more work off the cpu, on the 360 the sound processing took over most of one of the cores on the 360, and some other things to help the gpu out
@ specsmaster every character in skyrim would go about there daily tasks(they go to work chat to one another etc) and if they came into contact with one another responded, for instance if you got jump by bandits, and it was seen by a guard they would try and help, and their are many ways to play the game too.
And alot of it is very well written in places i liked the thieves guild stuff, trying to break into places without being seen, and the daedra stuff good too
Open worlds with lots to do and characters living out daily routines are more prone to bugs than something that hold your hand though the game, I think there have been too many go here do this do that games this gen
I would buy a vita if it had an enhanced version of morrowind even if they just put a proper mapping system in it, i loved skyrim and oblivion but could get into morrowind i got seriously lost wandering around in the wilderness just after the starting town and it put me off a bit
Its hardly suitable for a quick burst of handheld gameing.
I would like to see skyrim on next gen consoles with some of the mods or even a choice of mod and surely it would be that hard to do, after all alot of new gen games are ports from the original console

Great news, bet microsoft are kicking themselves now they almost got level 5 as a exclusive dev once with true fantasy online but stupidly cancelled it and level 5 went back to make games for the PS2/3 and DS.
