@hotel moscow it depends on the game engine its running but it just shows how much optimization they are missing out on having to having to support lesser gpu's without the latest dx features
@ NOS3LFESTEEM Dev kits for PS4/720 have been kicking around for a year building games from the ground up for dx11 with no messing about getting it to run on lesser spec machines which is needed to take advantage of dx11 as games need to be programmed different to take advantage of things like tessalation scaling, my arguement is that crysis 3 and all its assets will support older forms of direct x.
So all of a sudden bang there are games out on the pc that will do this with no waitin...
I'm not dissagreeing that pc's will not be more powerful I'm saying that pc's could do a hell of alot more but don't choose to do it for sales reasons.
Pcs games are basicly been draged down by current consoles that could surport dx11 features.
So all pcs can do now is more frames more AA instead of focusing on a great looking game.
When the new consoles come pc's will no longer have to make engines that will have to scale back all the way to a PS3/360.
They can make games that only run in dx11 know they can make money from consoles too and then they can let loose with dx11 only stuff like scalable tessalation and will no longer have to waste gpu cycles rendering distant objects with all its polys when its only a hand full of pixels.
Its just a shame for pc players they will have to all upgrade again ...
If you make an optimized game that runs at 30fps at 720p just think how good you could make the graphics.
There isnt a single game on the pc market that is optimized for high end gameing rig.
How many games can you name that are dx11 only for instance built with the lowest spec 7870+
The begining of the end will start when the PS4/720 launch,
Just in the same way nobody plays on a ps1 or 2 anymore.
It is kinda crazy but you have to resect bungie for wanting to get out of the whole halo thing and doin something new, if they stayed with ms they wouldnt have let them make anything other than halo.
I would call introducing proper enemy A.I a casual feature, before halo fps's were prescripted i.e it was the same game everytime you played it.
You walked so many step and enemy would appear here or they would always walk the same path.
Halo was different because it started life as an RTS.
Regenerating health changed the behavour of you and the enemy forcing both to make use of cover and also how enemy/squad responded to someone in cover so every game played diffe...
It sounds to me like the world is evolving all the time by the community.
I.e people building stuff and if you needed certain class to make certain bits then you would need the social aspect
I can think of a few unique thing they could do, what if every player could build so many things like forge/minecraft depending on level and class and when i got so big a near by opposing force could be given a mission to do with that building within the persistant world, money for doin this could be though the main story like a regular mmo.
And people would join forces/clans to build bigger structures
It looks like an mmo fps to me, probably mixed with a bit of forge too so everyone can create there own space, thus making the world evolve by itself.
I love most RPGs the best advice i can give for choosing an rpg is what films are you into, if you like manga for instance you will have an idea how rough some translations can be but they are better now.
Go onto you tube and watch a walk through of first 20 mins it may spoil the start but you would see it anyway in the first 20 mins anyway so not much harm done.
That depends on the bandwidth sony provides them with and your own internet line, also ping, can't see streaming working any time soon people alreay complain about lag input in hd tv's now just imagine your imput having to travel all the way to a server and back.
Can't see it working well with 60fps fighting games for instance.
I think the biggest threat to apple is Nvidea, if all the new android smart phones adopt the new chip then you have a stable standard games can be based around.
Don't forget condemned.
Cod 4 took off because of the multi player demo that was hyped by ms at E3 and get everyone addicted with the perks system.
Some FPS games changed everything, doom made a beleveable 3D world, Half life 2 showed what physics could do in gaming.
Half life 1 made you feel like you was in the story and halo showed the importance and good enemy A.I. outside of an rts
HL2 was really really good, graphics were so advanced for the time, and had real physics too that made the world more beleveable
All the ninty handheld castlevaina's kicked ass.
I like the idea of the controller been able to play while my girlfriend watches soaps on tv, its just that because it isn't being that well surported and the ps4/720 isnt far away I can afford only one console so i'm waiting to see which is the best.
@wit wolfy i think pete is more than willing to give people freedom the problem is i don't think MS are, fable was a success so lionhead became the fable studio and it all went down hill from there.
Bungie left because MS wouldn't let them make anything else.
Same with rare alot of the talent left,
One day MS will wake up and treat game devs like film directors and let them do what they want, nobody wants to make the same thing over and over.
@jadedz i have a tablet, a smart tv, and a very good phone, my tv is my hub and everything can be thrown to it.
I use my 360 as a music player but i don't want or need it to do anything else as all my other things have that covered.
If i want to use the internet its a quick press on my phone or tablet.
Why would i want to vote on tv programs its just silly.
Although i was impressed as was my daughter with kinect sesame street.
If ms go away...
