I seriously doubt that people with none backwards compatible PS3's arent going to buy a new TV just so they can play PS2 games. Since they already own a TV (to play their none backwards compatible PS3's) then surely it would it be much easier to just buy a PS2 ?

PS phone is a phone that can play downloadable PS1 titles and mini's. Its focus is being a decent phone which is capable of playing PS1 games and mini's from the PSN store - just like the iphone plays cheap downloadable shovelware from the app store.
PSP2 is a next gen handheld device with the focus on premium gaming features.
There is a market for both devices.
