Maybe free for someone like you but millions upon millions of pounds are being spent through legal online digital distribution like itunes so clearly digital distribution is a viable business model.
You want to own physical media - fine there is an option for you but digital distribution and handhelds go together like apple pie and ice cream. Do you think Apple would have sold so many games if they came on physical media ?
Ive got one and i think its great.
If you want the option of disks and dont mind a bulkier unit then get the regular PSP.
If you want a smaller unit and like digital distribution then get a PSP Go.
I would describe hardcore gaming as something where you can strive to improve and the game has a deep (not steep) learning curve - Gran Turismo for example
Casual is something anyone can pick up and play and the game is balanced in a way so that its nearly always a level playing feild - Mario Kart for example.
Now i prefer the former because i think they provide more of a challenge and you get more value out of the game as you learn to master it.

well no but in fairness its not really the fault of the xbox. Back in the 16 bit days we didnt have the internet to check on sales figures if we were so inclined, it just so happens that the xbox appeared as the internet became a tool for everybody rather than just computer nerds.
That said it does appear to be xbox fans who love them sales figures.

Well the PSP does have 20 million more units in existence than the PS3 so its not that hard to get your head around.
