I love to game on everything and I think, honestly, everyone should own all three consoles and a PC to be able to play EVERYTHING and unfortunately that's not the case. We talk that competition is good and is the driving force and hats true, but the cost to the consumer is pretty great and, unfortunately, that's how it is. It really shouldn't be who won E3, Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft, WE as the gamers should win everytime. It shouldnt be Sony vs Nintendo vs Microsoft, it should b...
That's exactly how you lose business in a world where the economy is fragile. Living expenses are high, gas prices are high, and wages just aren't cutting it. The housing market sucks, a lot of people are out of the job and the rich man wants to pick on the poor man and pick his pocket. Yippie
@ Cobra Kai - I don't know, man, they've gone a while without making money since Kojima left, I think they're wanting to make money again and that's money, just not as might as they might think. They're better off letting Metal Gear lie in infamy and letting new aspiring developers that want to work on new games, like Silent Hill are their best bets
I guess we're never gonna get over this. What does anyone care anyway? It just gives Xbots something to say "Ha ha! We took this from PlayStation" just to be what people hate about fanboys. But really, what does everyone care anyway? I remember going to midnight launch for this game and was excited. I'd never really played the series prior to this. I'd heard a lot about it and had played the demo of Metal Gear Solid that came with our PlayStation (yeah, you used to get a...
More games than you think exceed the 50GB data cap of a Dual-layer Blu-ray disc these days which I think is part of the reason you're seeing such a rapid shift from physical media to digital. Honestly, I'd like to see carts again, like with the Switch. Cartridges didn't really require loading, except for a select few like Street Fighter Alpha on the SNES, but it takes longer to stream from a disc than a cart, discs are cheaper but have their drawbacks but, yeah, The Last of Us Par...
That's Sqaresoft being respectful and aware of the gamer. 1) Those who still value physical media. Square is mindful of the Gamer Curator and Square doesn't mind gamers immortalizing their game. 2) Square recognizes and respects storage space. Square understands gamers don't have a lot of disposable income, you have to discriminate and that means not every gamer can afford to go out and get a brand SSD drive that are really expensive. So kudos to them to keeping the gamer in mind ...
Nothing wrong with that. Ya game on what ya wanna game on. At least it's not mobile. It's really not shocking though. There are some women who grew up with brothers who gamed and that's how they got into it, or their dad did. But with the Wii, a lot of women were introduced to gaming just as most people started with Nintendo. It ain't a bad place to start. I started a little with Atari, but all my friends had NES consoles. We were the first to get a Genesis, which was funny ca...
That's the most logical, intelligent, and well thought response I've heard in a while. I'd shake your hand if I could. It makes sense
Well hey, I mean, Microsoft's about to spend $70 billion, they gotta recoup all that money somehow, right?
Oh, they create trailers to show during a showcase that look flashy to generate interest with no intent of actually releasing anything. It's just to try and make it seem like there's a lot coming out, then they just cancel it
A poor man would go to prison. The rich man pays a fine, that's pocket change to them. And everyone is approving their acquisition of Activision-Blizzard. (By-the-way in the prison system, inmates don't like people that mess with children, they'll beat you to death.) What an upside down world where the poor continue to suffer. The poor have to be like the rich in order to become such and if they can't go to prison. But if they can become wealthy, then maybe they can get this k...
Yeah, because all of the assets are still there. You just need the art and programming teams. The audios already done. The story (a hard part) is already done so, there's nothing you need from Kojima, it's all already there and Konami owns all of the rights. The hard stuff is all done. Animation, mocap, all that can be done in house and synced with the audio and story that's already done. When you've got plenty of Metal Gear fans willing to go work for Konami, just to work on ...
I wish Naughty Dog would do this with The Last of Us and Uncharted 4. With servers shut down, you're screwed. Multiplayer should be secondary (extra) trophies that have nothing to do with the platinum because servers innevidably shut down
Gentleman, Microsoft wants to purchase Activision-Blizzard. Now, they're not exactly changing their business tactic ready for Microsoft to buy them out, no, I'd say this is something you can very much expect Microsoft to continue from here on out, this is how Microsoft does business and how they intend to recoup their $70 billion investment as quickly as possible. It's not something Microsoft is set to abandon, nah, this is the future for Xbox business. Microsoft intends to get ba...
........ But you can't take it anywhere..... What's the point when you can play it on a much bigger monitor in your home?
There isn't. It's just a streaming device for in the home. That doesn't compete with devices, like the PS Vita that you could take on the plane or anywhere for that matter and it's an absurd idea. PlayStation knows the benefits of PSP, Vita, Switch, Steams handheld and every other device, that it's about taking them on the go and having something to do outside the walls of your house. When I'm home, I don't want to play games on a tiny screen, that's why I have...
But PlayStation inherited a lot of Xbox fans when Xbox screwed themselves over with Xbone so Sony has to keep that camp happy. It's not that PlayStation are only going to make games using that business model or that they'll necessarily take over the console but there are games that have to cater to people that want that style of game. PlayStation knows their story driven games are huge and they're money makers so I don't see them abandoning that any time soon.
Nintendo wasn't in that bad of a position. This article is being over dramatic. Everyone has their down moments and the Wii U just wasn't a big enough deal. It was basically the Wii Pro but Nintendo had done well enough with the Wii, it wasn't like Nintendo was in SEGAs spot with the Dreamcast. Everyone has their down moments, unless your Xbox then their situation is pretty bad but, they have a massive company backing them with an inflated ego that just doesn't know when to ba...
Not true. They're neutral
