I dont think he's that kind of person. It's a tissue of lies to get what they want. There's, honestly, nothing wrong with acquiring studios, both sides are doing it, they're both playing the game, and they're both releasing their games on PC so it's a sign of things to come that consoles really are dying and digital is taking over anyway. The odd thing is that, like in the instance of Bungie, Sony only paid 3.6 million for them and they're still independent and sti...

I don't think so. I think the graphical upgrade is good enough

Yup, that'll do it. People don't like not being treated fairly and they riots start over being inconsistent. Really does sound to me like Bathesda really would like to reach a bigger audience with Starfield, and if Activision can do it with Call of Duty, when they're not even part of Xbox, why can't Bathesda.

Ultimately, it's Microsoft's money so Microsoft gets to call the shots but, seems to me like either 1) Bathesda really doesn't like Sony an...

I doubt it. Maybe SOME of their games, but Yakuza would've been an Xbox Exclusive, Bayonetta, etc.

Microsoft are doing this to themselves. They weren't always this way. During the Xbox 360 era, Peter Moore, John Shappert, and Don Mattrick made things a ...

Microsoft, this is why you shouldn't be allowed to acquire Activision-Blizzard or even exist in the console market and it's a WONDER that ANYBODY wants to sell to you and watch all of their hard work building a company and watch it go up in flames at your fingertips....

Eh, Microsoft can Have IO Interactive. Hello Games? They haven't done ANYTHING. Remedy? Good luck with that, they like being able to be everywhere. From Software? It could happen, but if it were possible, Sony would have first dibs I bet. SEGA? Not gonna happen. SEGA likes being independent. Honestly, Capcom, Sqauresoft, Take-Two, and Konami are the big wins. If Sony had Take Two, that would give them most of the sports titles with NBA, WWE, and could try to resume simulation-based NHL ag...

It doesn't really seem Sony acquired Bungie anyway. Like, they bought a certain percentage of stock because Bungie still develops for Xbox anyway and I think they'll continue to do so. It's weird Microsoft talks about Bungie because um..... Bungie LEFT Microsoft because they wanted to do other things and Microsoft trapped them into doing Halo so, funny they'd say that when Bungie wanted out of that anyway. So, Bungie is a prime reason why you don't want to go to Microsoft ...

They already have. All of the Yakuza games were previously exclusive to PlayStation but in recent years, Xbox just took them and put them on Game Pass anyway, so they don't need to acquire SEGA. Its also not on SEGAs best interest either. SEGA likes having the luxury of developing wherever they want. They also know there's games they can make that only the Nintendo crowd want to play because it's that Nintendo style. SEGA also owns the Bayonetta IP that they have a solid deal with...

Not at all a surprise. The Initiative was started by Microsoft to compete with PlayStation Studios directly and I think Microsoft was hoping that by dropping them in the thick of those developers, they might be able to buddy up with Sony devs and get some help from them. Kind of the Trojan Horse tactic with buddy up with them to get intel sort of thing. But that hasn't worked out too well for them as Creative Directors keep coming and going, nobody wants to stick with the project. I think...

I would also add that It may not be long before we really see consoles die. For a long time consoles used console specific components and as of recent, Xbox being a Microsoft company and Microsoft powering PC's with Windows they've used more PC components in consoles. When innovative hardware did exist, everyone complained it was too hard to develop for and too complex or too expensive. But look at what the PS3 did for consoles today.

My point is, consoles are becom...

Not a chance. It's a headache SEGA doesn't want to face. It's also come down to acquiring developers to keep exclusive content on consoles. Microsoft made the first big attempt to play the console wars this way and PlayStation has responded with the same move. SEGA doesn't want to get into all that mess. They make software for whatever and wherever they want. It's really not in their best interest and they're smart to stay where they're at. Also, Sonic has been pre...

But it shouldn't have to be this way. Xbox has consistently worked and operated this way. It's "let's see what we can get away with" and when they get caught it's "we're sorry" and then they try and ice the cake with "you see, we're listening" yeah, right after you tried to sneak around our back and screw us over. But Xbots are forgiving because Xbox is struggling right now (because of a lot of stupid decisions just like this) and they don...

I quit buying games when it comes to this and I have a MASSIVE back catalog to play. What I do want to see from someone is if Xbox is trying to cover this up and releases a disc, exactly how much of the game is on that disc or if they pull an Activision where it's just a code and you still download the whole game. PlayStation frustrates me when they do this, but it's only with Collectors Editions of the game because someone might want the extra merch with the Collectors Edition but do...

I mean, as much as I hate Microsoft, they bought Bethesda, it's theirs to do what they want to do with it, just as Sony could potentially acquire Squaresoft. Sony shouldn't have to allow anything further from Bungie and WHY SHOULD MLB THE SHOW have to be on competing consoles as well. Why is MLB The Show on Xbox AND given away for free on Xbox Game Pass. Phil Spencer didn't fight to defend Sony from being jerked around by the MLB, so why should Sony want to defend Microsoft from t...

How did you get MLB The Show on Xbox hardware, Microsoft? Does it belong on your hardware? It's a PlayStation owned development studio and PlayStation fronts the bill for it while you just give the game away for free AND you didn't put up any kind of a fight to explain to the MLB that's not how the gaming Industry works. You don't want to have to put Gears of War or Starfield on the PS5 but you happily accepted the MLB strongrming Sony into putting a game on your console becau...

Don't fall for it. It's a manipulation tactic. They want the courts pity and make all these promises until they aquire the business, and then like everything else they do is reverse their policy and take it back because the damage is done. Its ask forgiveness now and then screw you over later. They're doing everything they can now pulling ever stunt they can and playing every trump card they can to get the deal done. $70 billion is pocket change compared to what they'll make o...

I mean, Bungie is still expected to release Destiny game content for the Xbox and PlayStation bought them. And how can you forget what happened with MLB The Show? My bet is Phil Spencer went crying to the MLB and the two worked out a deal to screw Sony over and Microsoft saw it as an opportunity to take something quality from the competition because Microsoft had nothing, and they knew it. Major League Baseball approached Sony and lied to them. They told them there weren't any other licen...

I don't necessarily buy it, but they say games today take 5+ years to develop. That's a single console cycle meaning: on Xbox Series X you're gonna see a single Halo, Fable, Gears, and (let's say Starfield). On PS5 you're gonna see a single: God of War, Last of Us, Horizon, and Dreams game. That's sad. The engineering of the PS4 was to take familiar parts and make it easier on the developer to make games because "the PS3 is so difficult to develop for". If th...
