Remasters... The exact same game with graphical assets rebuilt or fully supported properly at 4K. Not just upscaled assets, Actual 4K assets.
Remakes.... Along with 4K graphical assets gameplay has been modernized to the current industry norm of that game's genre.
Please provide your technical scientific analysis and factual proof that XSS is anything different then a XSX (or PS5 Digital for that matter) other then it will play games at 1440p rather than 4K.
Also, please provide required specs for a game device to be considered next gen. And please show that this is an industry standard agreed to by Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony.
The truth is you have no clue whether the device is next gen and you do not have a si...
I have a huge backlog of games all the way back to PS3 and 360. BC is appreciated for as much of this backlog as possible.
Not required, just appreciated.
They still need to share accessory pricing. Specifically the storage cards.
It only stands to reason that if you target a lower resolution you will need less processing power and less memory to achieve the resolution.
The true answer to the question right now is that no one knows for certain. MS has made a statement on the topic... Something like, "Devts develop the game for series X and then simply downscale the resolution for Series S". If that is true, then the Series S will not hold back the generation in any way.
I don't. XB Series won't sell out as quickly probably. I expect by the end of the day it probably will, but not in a 30 minute time frame.
Nobody knows whether Sony clearly communicated that pre-orders were supposed to start at a certain time.
But, this is a much better approach. Nothing in the Blog press release seemed to point to specific times, so to me, it appears to be on Sony. At the very least their blog post was confusing and ambiguous with their show case.
@crazyCoconuts
It was deceptive. Nothing in their showcase point to releasing cross-gen. So, by having some information in the showcase, but a different set of info in their press release it was deception.
But, that is not the end of the world like many people make it. To me, this just (finally) makes gamers think that rather then blindly following Sony, they should watch their behaviors just like every other company. They do the same tactics the other compani...
First, Sony will not come in third place. At worst they will be second place behind the Switch.
Second, I do think they purposely held back the strategy so that they could let MS take maximum levels of the heat and so they continued to look like the "good guy", but at the same time they are not classless. Sony continually delivers AAA GOTY type games. Every company tries to look like "the good guy" while trying to vilify the other companies. Sony is ...
That is not true.
I can play Spiderman and Sackboy on my PS4 Pro and I can still play Demon Souls on my PS3 Slim (excluding online).
We are down to exactly ZERO truly exclusive first party games at launch by either console vendor this generation.
Anybody who buys this is stupid. All Capcom is doing is delivering the exact same game ported and turning hardware features on. Sad, that any gamer would fall for this and buy it rather than demanding that it be part of the PS5 Upgrade program or Smart Delivery on XB.
I am excited about the game, but gameplay in the trailer was really limited. I need to see more gameplay to make an informed decision.
Yup put out a special edition on PS5 rather then just upgrade it and give it to current owners thru Next Gen Upgrade or Smart Delivery.
Capcom has made a few really good games this gen. Monster Hunter, DMC5, and RE2 Remake.... But they also are not doing themselves any favors with a bunch of poor ports of RE, Deadrising, and Dragon's Dogma to the current gen and charging gamers an arm and leg for them.
@rdgneoz03
The only real day one exclusive on PS5 is Demon Souls remake. Spider-man and Sackboy are shipping on PS4 so they are not exclusive to PS5.
And if you want to get technical I can still play Demon Souls on PS3 (Excluding online features). So even that is not truly exclusive.
Initial pre-orders of new console almost always sell-out. This is not surprising.
I am sold on NextGen...
I am not sold that I need either console day one.
I definitely think "eroding" trust is hyperbole.
But, I think it is fair to say that Sony's image as being the torch bearer for console gamers is tarnished a bit because of this.
I have a feeling GoW will be cross gen too. <- Just a wild-ass guess.
GoW came out about 5 months before Spider-man. Doubt the is any new tech there that will make this any more difficult to run on PS4 or PS5.
I think the complaint is more the ass-kicking that XB received over the past few months on being upfront with cross-gen games in both the media and comment forums. There were many Sony fans that ridiculed this and felt that Sony was somehow acting on a higher morale ground then Microsoft.
This just isn't supported by facts yet. The jury is still out.
I like the idea, not for me, but for first time gamers, gamers with only HD TVs, and parents on a budget. The real question is whether MS' theory on Series S will translate to practical reality.
Simply saysing its specs are lower isn't good enough since we all should know that if you target a lower resolution you shouldn't need as much processing and memory. The question is ...
