This and Cyberpunk 2077 are my most anticipated games for the rest of this year!
You would think that the devt or publisher who built the game could control the price of said game.
These kinds of policies are very backwards. Platform stores have become far too powerful whether it is Apple, Google, Microsoft or Sony. Store should facilitate developer's and publisher's sales not road blocks to sales,
@darkWingsoul
MS is not the only one moving in that direction. Spider-man, LBP, and Horizon have all been announced as PS4 games as well. If I choose not to get a PS5 this holiday the only real games I am missing out on is the Demon's Soul remake (and I can still play that on my PS3 if I desire) and Destruction All-Stars with its "in-game purchases" aka microtransactions. It is just MS is telling you, that the value in moving isn't nextgen games yet. Whereas Son...
From the actual article instead of just reading the headline....
"If you've got all that though, and you don't mind just a smidge more thought than usual for a plug-and-play thing like a console, what a joy it is to use. And how genuinely forward thinking its vision is too: a step away from forcing you forwards - from the idea that you must need a new console to play its exclusive games, to the idea you might want one, to make your old games better, to make you...
For the PS3 I was buying most of my games at $50 if I pre-ordered and game publishers had record profits. Then, along came PS4, and I saw that they got rid of the $10 discount if you pre-order so games were $60 and publishers have record profits. Now we are going to $70 and the game publishers are recording record profits yet again.
I will stick to waiting for reasonable prices on games. 90% of games don't ship with their complete DLC and waiting for the "comple...
If PS5 does not outsell XB Series by a 3:1 margin I would be really surprised. The only thing that will affect whether a 3:1 margin happens is supply of the consoles.
This is an apples to oranges comparison.
The only reason Sony is looking good is because most of their games are focused on SP campaigns. Typically SP campaigns do not ship incomplete.
@bouzebal
Sunset shipped a year after launch. I wouldn't call that "shortly".
I completely disagree. By making a operating system UI 4K you are using more system resources that could be used to make games better.
I would rather have more in game resources then operating system resources.
They have been clear what they are delivering since they delayed Halo Infinite. I look at quality over quantity, and XB Series is not doing well on that front overall.
To me, the highlight games are Yakuza Like a Dragon and Gears Tactics. i played Gears Tactics on pc so won't pick that up. But, Yakuza looks like one of the best Yakuza's so far so I would get that if I got an XB Series device.
Sunset was not a launch game.
The UI is not a game. And by running it at 1080p instead of 4K they are saving valuable system resources allocated to the operating system.
I would rather the resources be provided to games, not the operating system of the device.
Maybe both should stop rather than making it worse?
Gaming fanboyism has devolved to worse then the Trump-Biden presidential race.
@Sayai jin
When is Ratchet shipping for PS5? I haven't seen a launch window announced yet. Looks like PS5 will double punch with Horizon and GoW next holiday. Not sure there is room for a triple punch with Ratchet.
XB game dates are all up in the air for 2021.
I love how gamers think....
"There is a new generation, I have to have a reason to buy the console on day one otherwise it is crap".
No other electronic sells using this approach. Most other electronics get new features every year. But people only buy new ones when they feel a need to replace their existing one. That is how gaming needs to go.
It was very interesting.
I wasn't sure whether I really liked it a lot or will find it annoying. One of the things I like about PS5 is how quickly and with less movement and clicks you can start a game. This UI seems to focus on activities. One side of me is keen on activities because they will (probably) help me get trophy completion up. The other side of me is annoyed that trophies will probably become easier for everyone to get and not require as much exploration...
Yup they are. And people should be ok with that.
As much as I hate GameStop. (And I really do hate them)
They are a brick and mortar games store that employs a lot of people. Having them see revenues from digital will help them stay open (hopefully) and keep many (probably not all) employed. I like that gaming has a dedicated presence at retail even if I don't really shop there myself.
The whole world is really a mess right now. Instead of focusing on the wellbeing, health, and environment of the planet the world is focused on making money. If corporations were rewarded as much for how they treated people and the environment as they are for making money then maybe the world would be a lot better place right now.
The problem is both PS5 and XB Series are supply constrained a lot more then Switch is. So I don't doubt Switch keeps outselling them.
The PS1 would not have the processing power, storage size, nor memory available to deal with Ghosts.
