Lets just put it this way, as far as I am concerned there is no amazing driver to push me to buy any new hardware this holiday. I will get a PS5 and XSX when I feel that the game catalogue pushes me out of the PS4 Pro and XBO X. There is nothing on either side of the fence that is a compelling game changing game this holiday.
I am slightly more apt to buy an XSX when I can get my hands on one without fighting lines simply because I haven't play...
I agree with Zeeb, that it was ridiculous that he didn't know the game name.
But, there was nothing biased there. In fact, they are highly complimentary to Spider-man MM.
To me, the best part of his comment was,
"The last thing I want in Game Pass is that there’s one game that everybody is playing forever, that’s not a gaming content subscription, that’s a one-game subscription, that’s WoW, right?"
When I saw the preview to the PS5 UI the first thing I thought is, "This is more like XB". The second thing I thought was wtf have they done to the super fast XMB that I loved, I don't want them guiding my gaming experience. I wanna just go into games and do my thing. Not some set of activities that they are suggesting I do.
MS was very clear that XBO and XB Series UIs were going to evolve together.
For sure this is awesome. God of War is my favorite Sony franchise! Played every God of War game to date including the remasters and on PSP! Can;t wait for the new game in 2021!
New IP games typically are at least three years to develop. To make a AAA studio that takes at least 5 years. You look at where MS was at in 2014 when Spencer took over XB and where they are today and there has been a significant transformation.
I will agree that he has talked sooner then he should've and made promises that he couldn't keep. I will also agree that it hasn't had a lot of immediate, tangible results, but if you look at everything there is a fou...
Ya, not sure why they just don't make it plus available as part of launch.... That would really seal its success probably.
But, February is good enough.
@optimus
I agree but having it conveniently in the store is much nicer then sideloading.
@ArchangelMike
If you look in this comment thread I was highly disagreed with when I argued that AAA was not just about dollars.

I put the following comment in the thread....

So Disney Infinity was 60 Million and a metacritic scor...
Ya, I really can't wait to see what Obsidian can do on a true AAA budget where they can get everything as good as they really want it to be. Their RPGs have been great, but they have always been on a budget. I can only imagine what they can do with the resources they have available through Microsoft.
Playstation 4 dominates and XBO was mostly a no show for the generation.
Depends how you define AAA....
If you define it by project spend, then I am not sure a game like Spider-man that had less then a 2 year development cycle and is a spin-off story (Insomniac said it is similar to Uncharted Lost Legacy) qualifies as a AAA game. If you only define AAA by quality of the game, I think it can be considered AAA based on the trailers.
I want this app available on every Windows, Android, and iOS device. Personally, I have Firestick, but I want to be able to play anywhere that has good internet access. This past generation I bought a console for every TV I have in my home. This next generation I am looking at only buying one or two consoles and streaming with the rest of the TVs. I hope that I can do that. But MS has to add to GamePass a benefit that if you own a game you can stream it as well.
If these devices are cutting load times by 5-10 times absolutely they are worth the price. I will gladly pay for more gaming time and to rid myself of load times.
How much? I don't see these as unreasonable for new technology. I have been in technology for literally decades and buying drives. The first drive that had the capacity of a CD (Yes, CD, not DVD or Blu-Ray) costed me $1,700. So, having these new devices at $120 and $220 is OK with me. The cost will dro...
I am not sure that makes sense.
First, I would rather see them update PC VR to what XB comes out with. It is well documented that developers don't feel VR is fully where it needs to be yet, so MS coming out with a headset that has new capabilities would be good. But a headset with new capabilities would need a new capabilities in the OS as well.
Second, the article states VR is a huge success. The reality is that for PC and PS VR only sold to 5% ...
Maybe once 5G is everywhere and more people have 1 Gbps internet but right now cloud streaming is just for people who either can't afford a full console or as a secondary way to play.
Nice that they improved the load times. Nice that Sony is showing constant support for their games.
But, there are no facts that back up Last of Us Remaster now has better loading times than Xbox Series X games. That is just a random comment trying to take a shot at XB for absolutely no reason.
How is that a good price for 500 GB? That seems to be the typical price for this sized of SSD.
@SickSinceSix
OK, not God of War Betrayal. lol.
@bouzebbal
I am not that great at the genre so I have not platinumed any of the games, but I enjoy them nonetheless. I remember chains of olympus as the first game when i purchased a PSP on a 9.5 hour flight to Italy from North America. I still think that PSP was the best portable gaming device I have ever owned.
