Good, now people should quit writing articles that we have to stop obsessing about this...
Unless you have been hiding under a rock for the past year you should know the status of this generation of consoles frame rates and resolutions...
We don't need to discuss it anymore...
Here's a novel concept... Let's talk about games on the gaming site...
Sega games for the past decade have been mostly meh...
They have to do less, and do what they do good more and better...
If this was a shipping game I would call it unacceptable... But at the Alpha stage, there are allowed to be tons of issues.
Its not like it is scheduled to ship this month. They have a few months to sort it out...
There maybe some xb fanboys in the disagrees, but frankly, Evolution f'ed this game's launch... There is no other way to put it.
It was supposed to launch last year and they cancelled a mere three weeks from launch. They delayed the game a year and you would think it would ship in nothing less than AAA condition...
Instead, the game is meh, the servers are unstable, and they haven't figured out how to get the PS+ edition running yet...
...
The only issue with this theory is that a generation of gaming has never been won or lost on the superiority of hardware...
7th Gen = Wii (Least Powerful console)
6th Gen = PS2 (Original XB was more powerful)
5th Gen = PS1 (Sega Saturn more powerful)
etc... etc...
A generation is not won or lost on hardware choices... The generation is won or lost on how the console vendor continually delivers games, price drops, new models, game bund...
WTF?
The article specifically says it is a SQL Injection Vulnerability...
A SQL injection vulnerability is when you insert SQL commands into data that is coming in to the server.
The fact that Sony's services do not look for and weed this stuff out is ridiculous. This is web application 101 type stuff.
For all those disagreeing, you have no f'ing clue what you are talking about. Even an article on Wikipedia helps ...
So what did PS4 have in comparison during the same timeframe?
Not exactly an innovative and new lineup neither.
@XGamer...
Yes... That further reinforces my comment!
Thx.
SQL Server injection vulnerabilities are simply inexcusable in this era on a large public network like PSN.
Don't care as much about day/night and weather as I do about the combat system, cities, and other gameplay elements...
Please quit showing us pretty... Pretty is a given now... Show us the meat on the bones!
I completely agree with everything you've said.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE DLC... I WANT ONE PRICE FOR THE FULL GAME EXPERIENCE ON DAY ONE! I ALSO DETEST EMBARGOS AND HIDING GAME FAILURES.
But, at the same time I can list a bunch of games that deserved profits and never saw that. You look at the studios that had to shut down last gen and the gaming IPs that had to disappear and it is really a shame that gamers didn't give them the money they needed to succe...
Sony still has a lot of serious issues to deal with to get their overall balance sheet in order.
Many companies have to go through this process, but Sony sure is taking their time doing it. And having another projected loss next year is not helpful.
The thing saving Sony is cash in the bank... Since they have a lot of cash they can afford to take these loses, but it is only a matter of time before that starts to dry up as well.
Glad to see t...
From a pro-consumer perspective that is one way of looking at it.
From a pro-industry perspective I think the people (stockholders) funding this industry would disagree.
The argument comes down to the age old question of which came first the chicken or the egg? If piracy and used games disappeared would DLC disappear? If DLC disappeared and games were $15 cheaper would piracy and used games disappear?
Either way you are asking for a lot of ...
If the companies took the approach of starting with the smallest and slimmest models they could make it would take twice as long to come to market and develop. By taking this approach it is like designing a manufacturing plant. You go in with a design you know will work and is efficient enough to make a profit on. Then, you tweak and tune it to make it more efficient and more profitable.
Rarely do humans get everything perfect the first time. Chip design is no exception f...
I am fine with always online and DRM... If you buy all your games new and you have a good internet connection it shouldn't matter.
I can understand people who buy used and think DRM is bad, but I disagree with used games because the devs/pubs don't get any share of the sale. And yes, I know all sides of the argument, it is simply my beliefs...
Pong on the Coleco Telstar 1976...
Have been gaming in every generation ever since...
And it led me to a career in software development as well..
@KiwiViper85.
First, I have all the next gen consoles including the Wii U. so I am not missing out on anything...
A very large portion of the games that have shipped on next gen consoles are on the last gen consoles as well (Watch Dogs, Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2, Alien Isolation, Evil Within, TLOU, CoD Ghosts, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, BF4, Diablo III, Destiny, FIFA 15, Madden 15, UFC, Halo [Except Halo 2], Minecraft, Lego games, etc.) There are only a handf...
What gaming experiences are people really missing out on?
Everyone has their own consumer experiences to draw upon.
For me, Sony has brought a lot of cost and grief (But, I still buytheir consoles and games)... For you it sounds like MS has...
Both Sony and MS make mistakes. I just laugh when both try to rationalize it in some stupid way... In this case it is Sony's stupidity moment. MS has had many of their own moments...
FYI. For the record I had 11 x 360's last gen scattered at the...
The inevitable "bumps in the road" for digital pre-orders... Actually surprised that things have been going so smooth so far.
I digitally pre-ordered and downloaded Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Just Dance 2015, Alein Isolation, Destiny, Disney Fantasia, Sleeping Dogs, and The Evil Within all without a single issue.
Also have Assassin's Creed, CoD AW, Halo MCC, Dragon's Age, and Lego Batman 3 digitally pre-ordered and downloaded... ...
