To be fair there hasn't been a lot of games "gun" for uncharted... Tomb Raider is really the only one, and Tomb Raider was the uncharted before uncharted.
In year one there were some differences with 720p and 1080p games...
In the second year there are slight differences with games at 900p and 1080p...
With XB1 DirectX 12 and the recent SDKs I am sure most games will be 1080p going forward on both consoles. In fact, through this past holiday season most games ran the same on both consoles.
I couldn't care less about if games go across to PC as well. I bought Xbox One as simply to setup, TV gaming device.
I love the new features announced with windows 10 and I am happy that more gamers will enjoy the xbox one exclusives. MS is the first console vendor that is seriously going beyond the "console vendor devices"... As a consumer, it means I can buy any Windows 10 hardware and play XB One games that ship for Windows 10 and stream from my Xbox One. ...
I do agree with this a lot! Personally, I want choice though.
Download the games or stream on any device possible. I am sure a high end pc could emulate X360 so you could download and run games on the PC.
Dear Microsoft:
Wouldn't it be great if you offered an XBL Platinum for an extra $20-40 / year that gave subscribers digital streaming of all already owned digital games from 360 and X1?
@HiddenMission.
The $20 / month price isn't bad, but tell that to the person who bought TLOU Survival Edition for $79.99, then bought TLOU PS4 for $54.99, and now is being asked to pay $20 / month to play it for the rest of time...
You have to look at the Total Cost not, just the singular cost of PS Now... Not paying attention to the total cost is just as near sited as not seeing PS Now's overall value.
@Bytor
I don't think you get it...
First, I doubt every cross platform game will have XBL cross gaming capability. I am positive they will have to certify the game to connect with XBL.
Sure, the PC is an open platform, but XBL is not. Therefore, if you want to MP with XBL you will have to follow the rules.
I am sure Sony has rules as well, and MP would need to follow those rules otherwise every cross platform game would already ...
Somebody is sensitive.
I think a lot of people are missing the point of the article.
I think the main point is that competition is good and providing innovation in the gaming space. Whether it is HoloLens, Project Morpheus, Remote Play, etc.
All these things are driven by companies competing and trying to differentiate their products from each other for a competitive advantage.
Consumers win!
Kinect has outlasted Move...
In fact Sony, is making good money on duplicating MS' Kinect for the PS4.
Probably not the best choice troll.
No, this is real interesting stuff.
Oculus Rift has proven VR is not for everyone. It is out and not everyone is flocking to buy it. I have one and it is really fun but has limitations. Project Morpheus is essentially Sony's version of Oculus Rift.
This is completely different. I can see its use in many different scenarios... Minecraft, RTS, RPG, team sport games like Madden/FIFA/NHL, etc.
But the real question will be what can i...
But, Microsoft has nothing and Sony has everything...
How will I reconcile this? I may need counselling to get me past the Sony fanboy brainwashing over the past year that all that matters is Sony exclusives, 1080p/60 FPS (which has become 30 FPS), and Project Morpheus.
This is a very complex issue.
I assume that for PC games to work with XB1 games they will have to abide by the rules of XBL.
And there in lies the issue. MS owns the PC and XB OS so they can say that Windows and XB games have to be together to work together. They cannot dictate to Sony how to do their online.
So, is D4 a shooter? Killer Instinct? Dance Central Spotlight? Deadrising 3? Ryse? Project Spark? Max the Curse of Brotherhood? Ori and the Blind Forest? Disney Fantasia? Fighter Within? Voice Commander? Scalebound? Phantom Dust? Crimson Dragon? Kalimba? Kinect Sports Rivals? Lococycle? Magic 2015? Minecraft? Sunset Overdrive? Xbox Fitness? Zoo Tycoon?
ALL FIRST PARTY PUBLISHED AND NOT ONE IS A SHOOTER. YOU OBVIOUSLY DO NOT OWN AN XBOX ONE. MS has only published one sh...
Phil has been very straight forward that this is more about platform capabilities.
You don't announce games typically when you are focusing on platform capabilities...
- Cross buy
- Windows streaming of X1 / X360 games
- XB streaming of PC games
- DX12 capabilities
How did this get approved as an X1 news article?
I guess PS4 fanboys still run this site. Honestly, this has nothing to do with X1.
They already have reclaimed the crown because they are multi-platform!
After reading the comments here I am passing until I get more info after release.
D4 is brilliant. Deserves many more than 1 million gamers.
This is very true. The title of the article needlessly sensationalizes DX12.
"Secretly releases". There are no secrets. DX12 is essentially an SDK update for the graphical component of Windows. You don't typically announce these types of things. If they did, you would see announcements all the time like "MS secretly updated the messaging queue in Windows to better use CPU".
This is a non-event right now. Games will use DX12 lat...
