Gamers talk about wanting choice all the time.
Yet, when it comes down to the most fundamental gaming choice (the device you play on) gamers say they don't want choice.
You have to have a PS4 to play Uncharted 4. You have to have a X1 to play Halo 5. You have to have a PC to play World of Warcraft.
That's just a bunch of BS. I want to buy my preferred set of devices... A Smart Phone, tablet, PC, console, etc. And I want to be abl...
Now, if only MS, Nintendo, and Sony would ship their "exclusive" games on all platforms!
I would be able to buy the device I want all the time vs. the device that has most of the games I want.
People have to realize that this is not just about console gaming. This is more about winning the war for gamers. Mobile, console, PC, tablet, watch, etc.
Gaming is no longer about only sitting in your living room or at a PC. Gaming is everywhere. And the winning companies will realize this and make sure they are providing their gamers with the ability to game how they want to game.
Steam, PSN, XBL, etc need to adapt so that their gamers can game anywhe...
This just means their PR is good and staff well trained on what to say.
To me, the reason for delays of games are to get better release windows for maximizing sales and/or to improve the quality.
Either way I agree with them.
In this case I think it has been for quality.
@TwoForce
First, my post was not opinion, it was the facts from E3 2015.
Second, you resort to a personal attack rather than argueing the facts.
Third, if you don't like XB1 that's fine... Stick with Sony. I am not trying to convince anyone to switch or anything. Just pointing out the facts from E3 2015.
So let's compare what was shown at E3 vs. what will be delivered from E3 2015 to E3 2016...
So Sony at E3 2015 had the following:
Final Fantasy VII shown... Where is it? And only announced as first on PS4 not fully exclusive.
No Man's Sky shown... Won't ship until the week after E3 2016... And it is only console exclusive.
Shenmue 3 announced... No sign of a ship date. And only console exclusive.

Yep for sure...
Giving people the option to buy the device they prefer is just utter craziness.

Street Fighter V just chose the wrong commercial model for the game. Getting gamers to pay $60 and promise content as part of the base game is just a bad practice.
I think that if Street Fighter V would've used the same model as Killer Instinct (F2P or purchase the season) it would be viewed much differently then it is now. SFV is not a bad game, but getting gamers to pay before the game is truly complete is just a bad practice.
I also quit buying Tellt...
First, Phil seems to be just stating what he thinks.
Second, there are (hopefully) great games coming to XB from the first party side. Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct Season 3, Scalebound, Halo Wars 2, etc.
And they have already delivered great new games this gen... Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5, Killer Instinct Season's 1/2, Forza Motorsports 6, Ori and the Blind Forest, Max Curse of Brotherhood, D4, Project Spark, Forza Horizo...
Please quote the " forefront of every xbox fanboy's arguement".
There are a lot of articles on Fable Legends and I think there was some praise but there were also many people who played it and didn't praise it.
I'm sure everyone hoped it would turn out well. Obviously that didn't happen.

I do not talk about BC in relation to console sales at all. You are the one talking about it and making the association.
Please quote my posts as to my wanted association between console sales and BC.
In fact I specifically say no one buys consoles for BC in one of my posts. I do not know why you keep linking desire for BC to console sales.
And that is where the money is at.
Royalties, XBL, music, video and games. No console vendor makes billions on hardware.
It is just another option for gamers.
As long as it is clearly marked as a preview (which they are), there is no reason not to allow it.
Personally, I don't want to play unfinished games on my XB1 and skip over all previews automatically. But, I know some gamers like it and they deserve to have the option.
First party studios don't mean a thing.
First, off a lot of first party games involve a lot of third party contracts to build them. Watch the credits of any AAA game and quite often there are just as many non-studio members as there are studio members involved in the game.
Second, contracting studios to create new IP that is owned by the first party console vendor reduces risk a lot. Sony did this with Heavy Rain and LittleBigPlanet. MS did it with Gea...
Gamers that don't want such options should go buy the competition's consoles.
I hear Sony gives their gamers more options than XB. So, if you don't like XB options such as PC cross buy, monthly OS releases with new functionality, paying for XBL, Backwards Compatibility, EA Access, and skip-able cut scenes in games then go buy a PS4.
The only thing I care about are the people that are or may lose their jobs. That is the real disappointment.
Fable Legends has been in development for years and has failed to wow people when shown. Phil's interview on the situation talked about the engagement numbers in the beta being below expectations. So, if they would've released the game it wouldn't have got great reviews and they would've been stuck support it because of its online focus. Eating valu...
Is it concerning that a game got axed in the 11th hour? YES...
Would I rather see them axe a game that wasn't good then release it and try and take my money... YES.
Yet another gaming web site to put on my no visit list (videogamer.com).
Out for cheap clicks rather than doing real investigation and reporting.
Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsports are really two car IPs. Just like DriveClub and GT. What is wrong with branding them Forza?
Halo Wars has not had a sequel since 2009. It is an RTS game. It is not the FPS.
The last Gears of War was 2013 with Judgement and it wasn't a main story game. Is there something wrong with a sequel 3 years later to a key IP? 5 years since the main story sequel to Gears 3.
Crackdown 2 was in 2010 so that se...
So, was Microsoft not allowed to have a press release for this?
I guess they aren't allowed to have press releases.
